Porto's Parque da Cidade is a great green space where you can explore different environments from the forest to the sea, you can walk, bike, run, enjoy the sun, have some food and much more!
We loved spending time in this park, it is very spacious, but also varied, great to walk or cycle around, with some undulations, a couple of lakes, trees and toilets which include showers.

... best but still we enjoyed walking through the various areas, a variety of smaller gardens that blend into one huge botanical environment but the views down the river are spectacular fir the best photos of Porto
Easily reached by the Hop on bus or Tram, but only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Porto, these gardens are built over the side of the hill with hidden nooks and grottoes.

Besides being a beautiful garden where you can take awesome photos, you can learn a bit more about organic production, looking at its results in the health and beauty of the aromatic herbs and flowers.
It's soooo beautiful and we can learn lots of things about organic agriculture, spices and the Portuguese culture.

We visited on our first day out which started out windy and misty so we went into the centre which was enjoyable with fish of all kinds, Ray's and penguins.
It's quite a small aquarium but well laid out, all the information is displayed in multiple languages and the staff are very enthusiastic and extremely helpful.

The historic urban serene park also features a variety of trees and plants, statues, a pond, children's play area, and a bandstand.
There is a lot of greenery, and a few other features, but the best attraction would have to be those sculptures of the men on the benches.

The excursions to the villages on the hilltops were memorable for the drive to and from on steep winding roads that afforded magnificent views of the surrounding countryside and for the charm of the villagers we met.
... tour, you could stay on the ship or go into the local town the ship was moored at and check out the shops etc. Again, the Douro River was a beautiful area with magnificent terraced vineyards up the river bluffs.
