Our guide Pedro was like an old friend taking you on a journey making sure everything was just perfect and providing such insight into the region. Our driver Gabriel kept up safe along the way. Miguel was knowledgeable and very entertaining and we all enjoyed ourselves - we also made some new friends along the way! Loved the opportunity to have a Portuguese biscuit along the way too! The food tour provided included local cuisine that we would not have thought to try - a lot of hidden local gems.
The food was adaptable to dietary requirements, as someone else in the group was gluten free. The wine pairings also changed to pair the best with the cuisine.

If you can, try to book it on your first day in Porto, because by the end you will feel so comfortable in the city with its different neighborhoods, winding streets and vibrant markets. Catarina will guide you through the old parts of the city, but also into neighborhoods where you’ll see local lifestyles - all the while enjoying exceptional food and wine pairings - from cheeses and charcuterie to seafoods and pastries. We even visited one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite haunts. Catarina’s knowledge of wines is, of course, top notch - but so is her passion for food and the history of Portugal that accompany it. She’ll give you local tips on where to shop and what to see is this beautiful city, making it all feel so personal and accessible.
