- Traveler60315816 contributionsEveryone said we needed to go to Douro valley during our Porto visit. We decided to do a tour as train seemed too complicated. We found this tour via Google and seemed good. It turned out to be even better than expected! Cuber was a fantastic host for our English speaking tour. He was super friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Our driver, Mr. Faria, was super nice and safe as well. He always made sure we got off bus safely too. The bus seats were a little small and no bathroom but they stopped every 1-1.5hrs so it was fine. The first town was a bit rushed as we needed restroom and wasted too much time at first cafe after bridge (avoid). Later we found a cuter a few 1 min away up the hill with no line and best pastries. After, we continued onward. The winery 2 tours and lunch at first were fabulous. We had 7 tastings (including table wine) in the end of the day of local wines and ports, with unlimited red and white wine as part of that lunch. The boat tour was so gorgeous! I loved that the trip picked some nice highlights and we could relax/sleep and just go along. Aside from first town which was mostly our fault on waiting 20min for restroom, day felt very relaxing and we spent the appropriate time everywhere. Only wish is there was coffee at lunch as boat tour after did not have it and so much wine is sleep inducing. I'd highly recommend this tour as it really was high value and low effort on our end. Great guide and bus driver made it a very safe relaxing and pleasant trip. He was very knowledgeable on the drive regarding the vineyards and pointed out landmarks and such. We were lucky that we all jelled and were laughing together like long-time friends by the end of our adventure. Andre is highly recommended for his knowledge and personality. - Darlene G2 contributionsMy husband and I went on the Douro Valley wine tour with Pedro and 6 other people. Pedro was a great guide! He was very informative, pleasant and energetic. Answered any questions we had and took pictures of us over looking the beautiful Douro Valley. We tried many different wines and port wines. Had a delicious lunch and another snack along with the 3 wine tastings. We had a fun time! Loved the boat ride on the river. So beautiful! Definitely a must do when in Porto. - Markus R8 contributionsGreat tour! Our tour guide was really nice and talked about a few things on the tour such as Ponte Luís I. But for us the tour was mainly relaxing because we spent 2 hours on a sailing boat with only 5 other people!
If you want the a lot of information then it maybe isn‘t the tour for you but if you want some information and a great relaxing experience then I would 100% recommend this tour! A relax and calm trip with the incredible views of Douro that fill our hearts. Luísa and Vítor were also super friendly and made us feel super confortable.
