Whenever in Madeira we visit the Forum and love to see the array of shops, primarily for clothes, and always have something new to offer.
Went here more than once to buy things at Lefties, all at fantastic prices, plus a visit to a shop to get more bus tickets, plus a battery for a watch, plus Pingo Doce.

An excellent and contained shopping centre with a great supermarket, a well stocked sports shop, if for instance you are looking for a basketball for your teenager son.
It is just situated in Downtown, easy to reach, offers varieties of excellent shops with a wonderful food court.

This shop and its manufacturing shop tries to keep alive the traditional Madeira embroidery while creating some modern pieces with it.
Nearly every tourist shop sell embroidery but (from the price) much of this is now factory made.

Either you're a bibliophilic, you want good professional advice on literature, or you're just seeking a special book (or a dozen) - you take the effort to find Rua Ferreiros 156 (next to the Seat shop).
This bookshop is absolutely overwhelming and the staff is highly qualified and extremely friendly.

Found this wonderful shop while we wandered along Rua de Santa Maria - it's just a few metres along a side road.
You should not go shopping for cork products in Funchal without first visiting Dona Nita.
