- Jim J30 contributionsWhat a beautiful medieval castle to visit. I would recommend that you visit any day except Sunday. We found out the hard way that much of Portugal does not work on Sundays. Great chocolate shops, restaurants, and gift shops.Written February 9, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SUIUHTBFerreira do Zezere, Portugal162 contributionsWe visited Obidos to see the Christmas fare and were really impressed with the castle and surrounding areas.
I’m not entirely sure that the admission price of €10 is worth it for adults visiting without kids as it is very focused on children as you’d expect, unless you want to wait 30 minutes to sit on Santa’s lap then you might want to give it a miss.
But the castle is very impressive and the surrounding village is very nice and is full of souvenir shops and craft shops.
As for the walk along the walls, you’ll need a head for heights. In places its exposed and narrow.Written December 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a great example of the blue and white tiles popular in Portugal.Written November 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - careyontravelsBoulder, CO85 contributionsPaddle boarding on Óbidos Lagoon is a great change of pace from the sometimes crowded Óbidos walled city. We rented from the Escola de Velha (sailing school), which also serves very casual lunches in their garden by the water.Written May 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
