Wow, it was really amazing, I liked how it organized.
Also, I liked seeing the penguins for the first time in my life (to be honest all of them😅)
I recommend bring your kids and enjoy the beautiful time here

We had a great time exploring the Alfama while in Lisboa. Beautiful, old buildings and traditions. We wandered around and got lost on the narrow side streets, always finding beautiful sights ❤️

The Jeronimos Monastery has to be seen to be believed. Every inch is carved and sculpted in extraordinary detail and with consummate craftsmanship. Which is why everyone wants to see it. As other reviewers have noted, even if you buy a timed ticket on-line in advance, you still need to wait on the line in the hot sun for a long time to get in. I've never seen a line move so slowly. We arrived just after the 9:30 opening and waited 70 minutes to get in. The reason is that they only let a few people in at a time so as not to spoil the site with mobs of tourists jostling each other like in the Mona Lisa room at The Louvre. Once you finally get in, you appreciate the peace and tranquility of the sparsely populated cloister, and you can stay as long as you want. So it's up to you. If you want to see this amazing place, expect to wait in a long line. If not, then don't get a ticket.

I visited Praça do Comércio on a sunny day and was blown away by the grandeur of the architecture and the stunning views of the Tagus River. The square is massive and filled with very nice restaurants and shops. It's a great place to take a stroll or just sit and people-watch. I particularly enjoyed the arches and the statue of King Jose I in the center of the square. It's a must-visit when in Lisbon!

Great location, didn’t go in as the queue was very long but lots to do around the area and the views were great! Would recommend hire a scooter and going down the front!

Wonderful, world class display of antiquities and fine art. Rembrandt, Degas, Manet, Monet, Rodin, Renoir, Gainsborough, etc.
picked this day as a respite from a rainy day or two and worked out well. Beautiful stroll worthy gardens and a cafeteria that serves hot and cold fine, fine food.

This historical area is a great place to stay in. Around every corner you will find cool shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, and buskers. Lots of up and down streets so bring your walking shoes!

The castle offers a nice spread-out area for strolling and relaxing, with some wonderful views over the city and the Tagus. Visitors can walk around the top of the walls and see a few remains of the medieval castle; the museum is worth a visit, but the archaeological site is mostly covered up and inaccessible. The (free) camera obscura is worth a visit even if it is in a foreign language (they vary between English and Portuguese, I think).

Top tips: take the 737 bus to the top of the hill (trams are generally packed) and if there is a long queue for tickets at the castle, just buy tickets online (or buy them in advance) and walk straight in!

We spent a couple of hours walking around this stunning building with its variety of tiles inside. The range is from very modern tile art usuage to those several hundred years old. I especially enjoyed the displays showing how the tiles were made using various techniques.
The only bad part of our experience was a mature female member of staff who so begrudgingly returned our left luggage as if everything was just too much trouble for her. This was in marked contrast to the helpful cafe staff- where I had the most delicious mushroom soup! Delicious!😋

It's a beautiful area of Lisbon. Even though I am portuguese, I never get tired of walking around those streets. Plenty of tourists but still very authentic. Various nice cafés, good restaurants, and beautiful shops. Careful though with the Chiado Eyeglass Factory in Rua Garrett. They sell most of the international brands of sun glasses but extremely overpriced.

I was at the Miradouro da Senhora do Monte yesterday and loved the view of the city from the top there. I then withdrew €80 from the very popular, sole ATM near the viewpoint. This morning I happened to check the balance of the credit card I used there to discover, to my horror, that €525 (= £449) had been taken from my credit card at that ATM. My credit card organisation said that cards are often cloned at ATMs near popular tourist spots and they assured me that I should get my money back.
I won’t be able to relax until I do.
I just wanted to warn you not to use that ATM.

took train from lisbon station by the Time Out market. easy as the line starts there. so u get off at Belem and then return on the opposite side of the track and there's a bridge that you use to enter and exit Belem station so getting lost on this line would be difficult.
however, the train is not like the subway and there is no notification as to where you are stopping at any stop. luckily we were looking left out of the window in the direction we were travelling and saw a Belem sign on the platform.

the monument is impressive and worth seeing from both sides. we never went up to admire the view but it's still worth seeing. it's close to Belem tower and also over the road from a nice monastery/church.

was on our list of things to do in lisbon and we are glad we went to see it

An impressive arch overlooking the square and Rue de Augusta, there are great views from the top and it’s certainly worth making the effort to go up there. There is a ticket office just behind the arch, with a ticket being priced at €3.50. The young lady serving was a bit miserable, no smile or anything, but other than that it was all simple enough. The bulk of the journey up is by elevator, but there are two very narrow, winding staircases which operate a one-way system controlled by traffic lights so you don’t meet anyone coming the other way!

The rather plain exterior of this church belies the ornate baroque interior. It has an abundance of gilt and detailed carvings. Among them are the ugliest cherubs you're likely to find in any church. Also of interest are the rather bizarre reliquaries containing the bones of saints, martyrs and virgins. All rather macabre. No doubt the rather oppressive and creepy atmosphere helped keep believers in check. Worth seeing.

Saw every animal except the elusive Iberian Lynx. Dolphin show was excellent. Really enjoyed the chair lift across the park. The zoo had a lot of people but not enough to feel crowded. Great time of year to go
