The line was an hour long, but those who waited got seats and a great view for the ride which is truly one to remember. If you don't want to wait, take the escalator up the first hill and try to catch it at the top. It passes up and down narrow streets and across the river front all the way through Alfama and Chiado.

Not expensive and you can buy a combined ticket with the Oceanaria (next door). Nice views over the water and of a long bridge!

We used the “Estação inclinada de Glória - São Pedro de Alcântara” to get off after the visit to the viewpoint “Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara”. The Viva Viagem day ticket was also valid for this funicular tramway, probably from a century ago in perfect working order. The journey is very short and covers the height difference between the viewpoint and the Praça dos Restauradores below. There are no significant panoramic views along the way. On the walls on the sides of the rails there are murals that enliven the ancient buildings. It is advisable to take this tram only if, as happened to us, you do not have to queue otherwise the walking is so short that it is easier to do it on foot, especially if you go down.

I will leave a review even if we didn't pay for a ride, we just walked to the top so we can wait for the tram and take pictures with it. I have no idea how much do you have to wait for the tram to get up if you don't find it there when you arrive, because when we got up, it was already there. The driver gives you a good couple of minutes to take photos with the tram before heading back down. We loved the spot and I think it's a total must if you ever get to see Lisbon! I don't know if paying for the trip is worth it, but if you are walking through the Bairro Alto neighbourhood, you have to go to the top for some very nice photos :)

A very seamless but quick use of Lisbon’s underground system. Upon arriving at Lisbon airport, the Metro was easy to navigate and at no time did we feel lost or confused.

The maps were similar to those used in London and the ticket machines offered English as a language. Fairly simple to use. We made one change en route with no delays to our connection.

Around an hour or so after leaving the airport, we were sat drinking ‘Super Bock’ ahead of a long weekend stay. Overall, very satisfied.

If you want a ride on a vintage tram, this one might be a good alternative to the number 28 line, which is often way too crowded. It does go up the hill and covers a lot of the city, so it may also take you where you need to go.

Save your legs and use the funicular to get up the steep hills. Short ride, but well worth it. Recommended.

It's a good public transit system and we used a lot of it. If you add a bunch of Euros to your Via Viagem card you get very cheap rides on all systems. Frequent service. Only negative is the omnipresent staircases in the Metro and malfunctioning elevators and escalators.

We found the transport system pretty easy to navigate, using the Metro, CP Trains, Trams, and of course the TukTuks.

Margarida was an excellent driver and tour guide for our group of 4 ladies. She communicated with us via What’s App, picked us up promptly at the Lisbon airport, took us on a tour of the city then got us to our lodging in Porto Covo in time for dinner. Excellent service and highly recommmend!

Oliver was our tuk tuk driver and we had a blast! Oliver was so friendly and knowledgeable about Lisbon’s history. He gave us so many amazing recommendations of sites and restaurants to check out! We also felt very safe driving around with Oliver. Thank you so much to Tuk Dreams and Oliver for a fun experience!

Never buy train tickets through Rail Ninja, they are thieves! They charged me 86 Euros for a ticket Porto-Lisbon. My friend paid 37 Euros the next morning at the train station for the same train ticket. If you don't want to get ripped off, buy tickets from a different provider, Comboios de Portugal's website or directly at the train station.

This is where you catch the ferry that takes you to the other side of the River Taugus. The ferries depart frequently and on the other side you can have lunch and take a long walk. A commuter terminal.
