Free entry on sundays before 2 pm but inexpensive at other times. A wonderful cornucopia of exotic plants tastefully combined to make its own ecosystem. It really is quite special and there's plenty to see.

A very grand garden in the center of Belem. You will surely see it as you visit the big tourists sites in this town near Lisbon. A good place to relax after standing in lines.

This miradouro is a nice spot with picturesque views, but not as popular as others. Ideal to stroll around and bask in the sun for a while. That´s what many people do but lying on the grass, despite all the notices around, with their earphones on or reading leisurely a book. The access is much more easier from the Campo dos Mártires, heading along a narrow treed street lined by some old villas.

Pretty gardens. A pocket of calm in the city. A little expensive given the small size but worth a visit. Free on Sundays.

The garden is mostly grass and some trees. The only notable exception is a model of a floatplane in the southeast of the garden commemorating the first flight across the South Atlantic from Portugal to Brazil in 1922. Most people will head towards Torre de Belem after visiting Padrao dos Descobrimentos or vice versa and they will pass by the floatplane model on the way. This is the only thing worth seeing in the garden, if anything.

Amazing place to go for a walk. Lots of interaction with ducks and peafowls.
It was quite a hot day when I went there so I recommend bringing some water (there is a refill spot close to the entrance).

We were unable to visit the Jeronimos Monastery in Belem due to the ridiculous queues, and chose to visit the Tropical Botanical Gardens behind the Monastery. It was refreshing to find there were no crowds.

We enjoyed strolling among the trees and ponds watching the peacocks with their chicks, and enjoying the shade.

Overall the gardens while considerably much nicer than the Botanical Gardens of Lisbon (including a lot less hilly), do look a bit tired, and need some TLC, but make a pleasant change from the more heavily touristed sights.

Nice and quite, except for the peacocks. Only 2 euros or 1 euro for over 65. Though a few Germans were trying to sneak in because the guard was in the building.

Small park which I suppose is sometimes overlooked because of the larger Parque Edwardo VII but still worth a walk around and it contains a restaurant/cafe if you fancy a drink/bite to eat.

Nice park for families, with different gardens, habitats and an orchard and garden with vegetables. It has some really nice areas but some other areas look like they need some maintenance. Although the site announces ducks, tortoises and other fauna we didn't manage to see any. The park is in the premises of the Costumes Museum and the Theatre and Dance Museum so you can either visit everything or you can opt for a ticket just to visit the park.

It with sadness I left this place of so much potential. I am more than an amateur gardener and the state of the Teresa Dan plants here was alarming. So much to do. So many dead trees. So many needed pruning. No labels telling what things were. Totally chaotic. I understand it was left until 2016 and then we had lockdown but surely more can be done….

This is an open and pretty garden in the middle of Belem a short walk from so many major sites. Some nice water works, good landscaping and some places to sit and rest after standing on your feet at the sites.
