What travelers are saying
- PB_TravellerBirmingham, UK111 contributionsMy partner and I sort of stumbled upon this place by chance. As we wandered around the park, we saw 'Greenhouse' on the map and thought we'd check it out. So glad we did as we absolutely loved it.
Entry fee is a bargain at €4 or something close to that. It was much bigger than I initially thought as it's built on different levels ( well it can't be flat can it, it's Lisbon!) Lots of the plants are clearly labelled too which is great.
No idea if it packs out in high season but when we went it was gloriously calm and peaceful.Written January 10, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What an experience! The palace is beautiful and Teresa was very thorough in explaining what we were looking at and its relevance to history. She made the palace come alive! There are many rooms and interesting artifacts to explore. The outside is just as grandiose and symbolic as the inside. Teresa showed us her favorite elements inside and out and we felt educated afterwards. I recommend a visit for the tiles alone, but the rest is amazing too! I recommend this tour with five stars!Written December 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JackOld Bethpage, NY3,409 contributionsThe Jardim da Praca do Imperio are beautiful gardens in between the Monasteiro dos Jeronimos and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos. It has some beautiful fountains and flowers.Written July 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA19,064 contributionsWe had quite a long walk through the gardens as we struggled to find the entrance to the new modern art museum. Along the way we saw some lovely plants, some water features, some places to sit, and an ampitheater under construction. Lush landscaping.Written November 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Camper264218528472 contributionsNice quiet park in an upscale area of town. The pine tree at the center of the park is quite special. - southerntraveller49Andalucia, Spain956 contributionsThis miradouro is a nice spot with picturesque views, but not as popular as others. Ideal to stroll around and bask in the sun for a while. That´s what many people do but lying on the grass, despite all the notices around, with their earphones on or reading leisurely a book. The access is much more easier from the Campo dos Mártires, heading along a narrow treed street lined by some old villas.Written December 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Philip PHerentals, Belgium1,522 contributionsNice atmosphere with a mixture of history and nature. Loads of tourists. Several food and drink trucks and alike all around the area = nice, but spoils the experience to some extend.Written October 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew RMarket Harborough, UK704 contributionsNice and quite, except for the peacocks. Only 2 euros or 1 euro for over 65. Though a few Germans were trying to sneak in because the guard was in the building.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - City ExplorerEdinburgh, UK24 contributionsThe garden isn’t anything to write home about, but is perfectly pleasant, with some nice ponds and sculptures. It’s very green, with few flowers, and I was done in less than an hour. The ducklings were sweet.
Beware Google maps, though. It took me to a lower level car park that was nowhere near the entrance (and I could see others had made the same mistake). The entrance is shared with the natural history museum and was easily walkable from my hotel in the Baixa area.Written June 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even the main paths are rough with loose stones, so wear good shoes. There are toilets and there was a coffee van in the entrance area but no cafe. Could do with some tlc.Written February 1, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Diogo S2 contributionsAmazing place to go for a walk. Lots of interaction with ducks and peafowls.
It was quite a hot day when I went there so I recommend bringing some water (there is a refill spot close to the entrance).Written July 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA19,064 contributionsWe went to this part of the city to see if we could live here. The modern architecture and the water features are interesting, but our conclusion was that it's not all that inviting of a neighborhood. Good water features.Written December 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
