Very impressive, lots of cannons! Original wall paintings. We came towards the end of the day, were the last one in the museum. Everybody was eager to close for the day. Definitely need to have a guided tour.

This museum is located in a historic barracks in the Chiado district and next door to the Convento do Carmo.

The Museum is dedicated to the history of the GNR and contains both a library and archive..

Members of the GNR are military personnel and have served overseas in peacekeeping roles.

The building had been well maintained and painted in cream with heritage green doors.

Thks museum is run by the assocation of old soldiers. It hás a resume of the war between Portugal and the countries that were once colonies. Is is easy to viait and to experiment some of the old equipemnet.
