walk down and INTO an (extinct) volcano! .....i have climbed volcanos and been on them and around them all over - Hawaii, Kilimanjaro summit, Elbrus in Russia, Etna, Vesuvius, iceland, san cristobal and masaya in nicaragua, cotopaxi, galapagos and maybe others i have forgotten, but I have NEVER seen a volcano complex like this, where we are granted access into the inner sanctum! just go . make sure you go. dont miss this.

One of the most beautiful forts in the world. Dates back to the 1400's. The history here is well preserved and beautiful. Yhis is a must visit while on the island of Teceira.

Reading the reviews, we were expecting sharp climbing and heavy trekking.
I carried a 5 month old baby in a strap on baby carrier and my boyfriend helped our 6yo along muddy paths.
The track is gorgeous, doable, though tricky at times.
It was one of our best afternoons on the island.

Amazing view! If you are coming to Terceira, this is a must-see! You can see the different places of Terceira from one point to another. keep in mind that the viewpoint can be a bit windy and of course, check if it's sunny or just a bit of fog (it can have a special feeling).

The museum tells a nice history of the wine production and the steps they have gone through. Although mentioned in other comments a guided tour was included, this one is replaced by templates explaining about the different rooms and areas. The owner still lives in fear of covid (understandable). Everything is a little bit smaller than what we are used to, but that's how we learn to appreciate the small things in the world as well.

Small square in front of the town hall. Nice pavement just like the rest of the city. Make sure to visit the town hall there (free). There is a nice garden nearby and you can climb all the way to the top of the hill and the view is amazing from there. Free concerts at weekends in December.

The garden area was just absolutely beautiful. It was the view from our hotel and located in the heart of town.

Excellent small museum housed in a former convent, with convent church. Sections on history of the Azores, Portugal’s role in WW1, contemporary life on Terciera, the 1980 earthquake and more. Stunning value at only €1 for over 65s. It’s right next door to the Botanical Gardens too.

Nice beach, fine sand, some sunshade and a good environment. It was a very nice place to visit and enjoy. Only thing is lack of sun sometimes (you never know when is going to rain in Terceira) and cold water

Beautiful waves crashing into the jagged volcanic coastline of Terceira. The Atlantic is very beautiful in the Winter season with a continual flow of waves.

The colours of the Ocean ranged from a teal blue to a deep green depending on what lay beneath. You can see the beauty and power of the waves.

Enter through Jardin de Duke, take your time, and stop for rest, contemplation, and photo's at the scenic and resing areas on the way. Be warned-this is a challenging climb for older folks (like me) or anyone with a knee, ankle , foot problem. I am recovering from Lyme arthritis, and can tell you it is probably doable for most people. It was an effort for me, but well worth it. Beautiful scenic vistas.

We came here by regular bus on our round trip through Terceira and had just 40 minutes to see the gloomy grandeur of nature on the banks of the Ponta dos Biscoitos. Formed by flowing volcanic lava natural pools are a popular place for sea bathing and watching the terrible elements of the Atlantic. The shore is equipped with bridges and descents into the water. However, swimming here is an activity for brave people. Firstly, it is still unsafe - you can cut your leg, and secondly, even in summer it is cold here. Relatively, of course..

It is very easy to reach the top despite the great altitude (a bit more than 1000 m). Views are amazing. Beware of the fog and so please go in a sunny day and a oye early or late in the day
