#1 of 13 Museums in Evora
This museum is so well done: the historical information is spot-on, the arrangement of everything from Neolithic, Roman, Moorish, and later artifacts to paintings and religious objects is excellent.
Although Museu de Évora (now called Museu Nacional Frei Manuel do Cenaculo) was already famous for religious art, it has a fantastic and very diverse collection - including great Flemish paintings.

We learned so much about the Megalithic era, and also about contemporary Portugal -- politics, people, culture, history, food -- in an easy-going natural way.
I do hope the Portuguese government start to properly invest in preserving and protecting the ancient treasures of this landscape for generations to come.

The expressions of the 'people' and animals are really fantastic and great fun, and the artists have thought of so many little details - I think I need a few visits in order to find and appreciate them all.
#5 of 13 Museums in Evora
The exhibits were a mix of permanent and temporary, with several outstanding pieces and a thoughtful presentation of material.

As part of the cathedral tour the museum provided some great detail as well as artefacts from the different periods.
