Throughly enjoyed our time at the bar, staff were knowledgeable about the different types of beer on display and were all approachable. Lovely location, having a 2be beer right by the canal is a must do!!

You choose the type of chocolate and what you want on top (marshmallows, whipped cream, etc). We chose a caramel chocolate and a mixed chocolate, both with whipped cream. They bring you a very large bowl/mug with hot milk, and a big chocolate "cup" filled with the chocolate that you drop into the hot milk and stir to make the hot chocolate. The result is rich, delicous, and satisfying. It's simple but worth stopping for this amazing treat.

Nice smell of chocolate and one could see how chocolate bars were being used. It’s a busy shop and chocolates are ok, nothing exceptional but nicer from other shops around.

There are hundreds of chocolate shops in Bruges and we certainly visited a good majority of them on our visit. However, chocolates & happiness stood out for a number of reasons.

Firstly the customer service of this family run business was exceptional. They spent time chatting with us, explaining the chocolates and process and making sure we left with products that we truly loved.

Secondly the quality and range was fantastic. Everything looked beautiful and the ones we have now eaten were fabulous. Different range of packaging options for gifts and our own consumption.

Finally the price. Compared to other other shops the price point, combined with quality was fantastic and plenty of different options on how nd what to buy suits all price brackets.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and definitely left happier.
    Great local, family run business.

I absolutely loved my visit to this whimsical little shop. The shop owners were kind and very passionate about story-telling and making their shoppers remember what it felt like to be an excited child again. I purchased the most beautifully hand-crafted puppet from the shop of a grandmother. I recently lost my grandmother, it was a very meaningful purchase for me. Please do not leave Brugge without visiting this shop. You can get souvenirs anywhere, but you are sure to find something memorable here. Ask them about Baldwin and the Bear.

Part of what you are paying for here is the quaintness of the tiny little shop. People often line up for several meters outside, waiting for their chance to get in. I'm not convinced their chocolates are any better or worse than other places, but they have a corner on "cuteness" of their shop.

One thing I've really missed about Texas is the craft beer culture and the sheer variety of beers to try. Belgium gave ys that experience and the Bottle Shop has over 600 options for you to take home.

There aren’t dozens of chocolate shop fronts in Bruges, there are literally hundreds.

We have spent the last 6 days here, on top of a visit last year and the number seems to keep going. Probably along with the tourist numbers.

Many have the most impressive displays & claims. But unless you’re in a hurry, or don’t really care, try not to buy at the first that you visit.

Taste is a personal thing - but you’re probably not going to find bad chocolate. Find somewhere that feels right, looks right and is priced kinda right (none are inexpensive).

This one, among others works for us.

Yes, they have their banter down perfectly, but do they should. They see thousands of tourists every week of every year.

Go with your gut. This we think is one of the better - but there isn’t a best!

Very nice chocolates and friendly owner! This is one of the oldest chocolate shops in Bruges and we are glad we walked a fit further from the city centre to find this amazing chocolate shop. The owner was very kind to tell us a bit about the history of the shop. All chocolates are hand made using secret traditional recipes!

There is the chocolate shop and right next door, on the corner is the cafe where we had the most delicious fresh waffles & excellent coffee this afternoon.

The waffle were warm, light and with a crunchy crust. I had vanilla ice cream & strawberry coulis on mine and it was sensational.

Add in a really nice space to sit and watch the rain and the world go by, and friendly service, what’s not to like?

Oh, and a delicious complimentary chocolate from the shop next door with the coffee. Life’s good.

We tried a ton of different chocolate throughout Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, & Brussels. This was another of our favorites. Would definitely recommend.

though several are scattered across tourist centers in Europe, they all exude a wonderful sense of surprise, beauty, and caring customer care. Pricey, but really worth the cost when you compare them to any other options out there. There is a gift here for everyone in the family, and you can always walk away with something for a euro or two. If you have never experienced a KW store, then you really should--and give yourself an hour or so to browse upstairs and downstairs

I had tea at the House of Waffles. It was so great I asked if I could buy it. They sent me to Het BrugsTheehuis across the street. The service was great, the Tea awesome. I purchase one large bag when I should have gotten three or four. This tea is absolutely wonderful. This made my. experience is Brugge's even more fantastic.

I tried a selection of the dark chocolates and they were fantastic! It was recommended to me by a local as THE place to buy authentic hand-made Belgian chocolates.
