- aLexCanton of Vaud, Switzerland259 contributionsThis is the chocolate outlet where normally you can taste chocolate and buy in large quantities (i.e. boxes of 1kg). However with the recent pandemic outcome this has been restricted. They have many good deals and considering the quality of the chocolate the prices are competitive.Written August 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rea M2 contributionsI was working there with my computer, tasted good drinks and had a dinner. Prices are fair but dinner wasn't as tasty as I hoped! Atmosphere was still nice, many interesting people and very good backround music. I have heard that sometimes there are some jazz concerts and many people come to have a chat with friends in the evenings - all the tables were occupied!Written April 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tom RCrete, Greece27 contributionsIf you wanna taste real chocolate, this is the place to be! You will buy chocolate with a story. Geert and his team tell you also very nice stories how it’s made and how they help farmers in all the beautiful countries where they buy there beans from 👍👍💕💕🥳🥳Written February 13, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mst1Maastricht, The Netherlands62 contributionsMr. Philippe puts his heart and soul in these exquisite, highly original and beautiful sweets. Each one is a work of art, both in shape and in taste. There is no comparison to it.
You don’t need to die to visit paradise... just pass by Melsensstraat 14. Don’t believe me... go and taste for yourself.Written December 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jana J6 contributionsReally nice chocolates, many interesting flavours and fillings. The only drawback is that they are pricey, so mostly for special occasions/presents/treats.Written February 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TrainbleuBrussels, Belgium28,051 contributionsLooking for a place to buy some artisanal chocolate Easter eggs for an Easter breakfast with a friend in Leuven, I was happy to find Chocolaterie Guy Raets-Putseys smack in the centre of town. The eggs were sold by weight and didn’t come cheap but they were well worth the money. Their aroma was mouth-watering and they tasted like heaven.Written April 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- paul iLeuven, Belgium12 contributionsBooks and coffee is a win-win combination.
The service I've encountered here has always been friendly, cordial, and efficient.
A few downsides: like many cafes in Leuven, the it closes at 18.00 which doesn't give lots of time to enjoy if you have day job. Also, it is a student hub, so many students just take a drink and sit to work for hours, making finding a table always difficult. Furthermore, book selection is limited and (naturally) mostly in Flemish.
Avoid to-go cups: the volume of whatever choice drink they contain is usually much smaller (as much as 50% less) than the "stay-cup" sizes- I unfortunately learned that just yesterday.
A big plus: you always get a chocolate along with your drink! :)
Overall, pleasant and friendly, clean and interesting.Written January 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - TrainbleuBrussels, Belgium28,051 contributionsSince we discovered Antoine on Tiense straat in the centre of Leuven, we have been back many times for yummy bread and absolutely delicious chocolates. We love their collection of round truffles, especially those with hazelnuts, raspberry and passion fruit filling. They come in elegant gift boxes, which never failed to bring a smile to people’s face.
Why Antoine is listed as an attraction in Tripadvisor is a mystery.Written July 12, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Koen K8 contributionsMy brother lives near Leuven and gave us a box as a present. Waw! A feast for the eyes and when you finally decide you have to eat one they taste amazing. Very original flavour mixes that work. Will look this place up when in Leuven!!Written December 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RipRapRupKortenberg, Belgium10 contributionsThis is the place where chocolate lovers must unite! REEN Sweets & Treats is an award-winning chocolate shop which combines unique flavours and high quality ingredients with the owner's passion and eye for detail. I have frequented the place for a few years now (they are very good at letting you taste before you buy :-)) and have never been disappointed. I cannot wait to join one of the chocolate workshops!Written March 19, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- TrainbleuBrussels, Belgium28,051 contributionsAlthough Oxfam Bookshop Leuven is a charity bookshop it is very well kept. Apart from Dutch (which is the local language), they sell books in English, German, Spanish, Italian and French. I even found something in Swedish once. Most books are used, but some are new. They are neatly ordered by subject and language and alphabetically so you don’t have to rummage through all the shelves if you are looking for a particular book. Although, on a Saturday visit to Leuven, I also like to browse through the different language sections to see what catches my fancy. On one of my last visits I left with a box containing work of Franz Kafka in German. The price was just too good to resist. The atmosphere in the shop is pleasant and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. You can also drop off books you don't need anymore.
Oxfam Bookshop Leuven is very close to the Old Market (“Oude Markt” in Dutch). If you are looking for a nice place to have a coffee or a spot of lunch, check out Wereldcafé at nearby Joris Helleputteplein.Written November 17, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
