- Farzana K4 contributionsThis tour was great! The pick-up location was easy to find and our tour guide, Jan Van Melkebeke, was amazing! He was very kind and entertaining as well. He is super knowledgeable on the sites in Bruges and Ghent. I went on this tour at the end of January with a friend and even though it was a little chilly, he made the experience extremely fun. We saw major sites in Bruges and Ghent and there is time to grab lunch in Ghent and later explore Bruges. I would be sure to bring a euro or 2 to use public restrooms that may require payment. This is a great budget-friendly way to see 2 beautiful cities efficiently if you are pressed for time while traveling. These cities are very different from Brussels and so beautiful.
BTW you can see the Belfry Tower and go to the top with admission (~10euro regular adult or ~5euro for student). She provided a lot of data trivia and fun facts. The bus very comforatble and relatively new. Very effcieint use of time. Our Guide, Nicola, was great at explaining the sites and kept everyone safe. The tour uses little earphone sets to hear the guide. - Holly S5 contributionsThe meeting point was easy to find and then we walked to the coach. We shared a coach with a Spanish group and two tour guides (one for each language). The guides spoke to us briefly on the coach and it was just under an hour's drive to Ghent. On arrival we had a toilet stop and then a guided tour. The English group was much smaller so we had a nice size to walk around with and the tour was good. Our guide Julian was knowledgeable and gave us some recommendations. Afterwards we had 4 hours of free time to explore which worked well. He did an amazing job of giving us the history of this beautiful city and his recommendations for dining were greatly appreciated. This is a walking tour so make sure you bring good shoes with plenty of support - we walked across many cobblestone surfaces. You don't get just interesting info about chocolate and local chocolatiers, but also about historical buildings that you pass along during the tour. He is very passionate and he has an answer for every question, so you can ask him anything about the city. He also provided us with tips about local restaurants and bars. It was a sunny day (lucky us), so everything was perfect!
