- Edward B1 contributionThe medieval architecture is truly amazing to see especailly on such a large scale. These canal cities ae wonderful to visit. I would only caution, though, that there are no internationally recognize buildings that really stand out from each other. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We thought of doing the Ghent and Bruges tour, but that would probably have been rushed. Juliana was a very knowledgeable guide. We had maybe 4 hours to explore on our own and still could've used another 2 hours. We took the tour with the bus trip vs. figuring out how to get there. It was a holiday, so instead of trekking the 3 blocks to bus pickup, had to go another 4 blocks--only bad side. The canal boat trip was a nice different perspective. Went to sit in a cafe to clean up the wounds while the tour continued and couldn't find the tour at the meeting point to go back to brussels. The tour was well-organized, and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Antwerp’s stunning architecture and Ghent’s charming canals were the highlights, offering a perfect mix of history and beauty. The Atomium photo stop was a nice touch for a quick snapshot of the iconic landmark. Overall, a great way to explore two amazing Belgian cities in one day! Only downside was the time felt a bit rushed in both cities, but still a memorable experience. I liked that we had "tour and info" time but also had lots of free time to explore on our own. This trip was definitely worth the time and money! Brussels was amazing. The history and architecture was unbelievable. Bruges was the most beautiful, romantic, fairytale town I've ever seen. The whole day felt like we were in pretend cities! Bruges was a bit touristy, but if you get off on your own and just explore the side streets are quieter. Same with Brussels. The only thing I would change is that I would just do a drive-by of the Automium instead of a stop. This was kind of a waste of time because there is not time to go to the top and it's more of a "look at this and leave" type of place. I would have MUCH rather done a drive by there and spent the extra time in Bruges, without a doubt! I think the tour would have been better if we had an extra hour in Bruges especially because it is the end of the day and the sunlight was perfect just as we were leaving. Overall, it was a long fantastic day and I am sooooooo glad we decided to do this tour! Istvan was knowledgeable, adapted our experience based on our interests, and made sure that our experience was a great one. Each of our stops was enhanced by Istvan providing context and insights as well as Istvan making sure that we got the most out of each stop. He also listened to our group’s interests and conversations and recommended adjusting our day so that we could squeeze in seeing a Panther that was not a part of the experience which capped off a wonderful day. - Holly S5 contributionsThe meeting point was easy to find and then we walked to the coach. We shared a coach with a Spanish group and two tour guides (one for each language). The guides spoke to us briefly on the coach and it was just under an hour's drive to Ghent. On arrival we had a toilet stop and then a guided tour. The English group was much smaller so we had a nice size to walk around with and the tour was good. Our guide Julian was knowledgeable and gave us some recommendations. Afterwards we had 4 hours of free time to explore which worked well. I don’t think cannot go there unless you have a car and a local guide as included in this tour. But just being there gives you this feeling of significance. Why do we humans never learn from our past mistakes. I enjoyed this one day escape from Brussels. One of my colleagues who tagged along with me also appreciate me almost making him go explore and to stay in the city.
