We adjusted the tour route on the way as it was not the first time for us in Brussels. Christophe is a great guide for this type of touring. - Doug S3 contributionsOur day exceeded our expectations! Istvan was knowledgeable, adapted our experience based on our interests, and made sure that our experience was a great one. Each of our stops was enhanced by Istvan providing context and insights as well as Istvan making sure that we got the most out of each stop. He also listened to our group’s interests and conversations and recommended adjusting our day so that we could squeeze in seeing a Panther that was not a part of the experience which capped off a wonderful day. We were provided with a small map and largely turned loose, although we were told where one set of free toilets was. We had a great chat along the way and the ride went quickly. We got off the train and started exploring Bruges. My guide had a ton of knowledge and recommended many different places. She had a great lunch spot in mind and we enjoyed some great local food. - Jim SRoanoke, VA3 contributionsThis is an easy trip to make from Brussels. I may have over-anticipated, but I was expecting more from the visit. When you think of Antwerp, generally your first thought is of diamonds. The diamond portion of this trip was walking down a sidewalk, peering into jewelry store windows like I can do at home. And that was on the way to the train station where we got about 10 minutes to look at its blend of old and new architecture but not much about history. My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast which included our first Belgian waffle. Our guide gave us a great tour of the city's history, which included interesting elements from across the centuries. It's an inexpensive tour and gives the traveler another look at some of the many areas in and around Brussels. If you just want to hit the highlights, this tour will do it. There was a group of 6 of us and we kept asking questions and at no time did he hesitate with an answer. He pointed us in the right direction to find good chocolates, food and beer after our tour concluded. He met us at our meeting location at the scheduled time. A good time was had by all.
