I love this beautiful arcade, full of decadent shops, cafés and restaurants. It is as grand as it is beautiful and dates back to the 1800's. It is often very busy but is worth the effort and I thoroughly recommend sitting down with some chocolates and a hot chocolate to watch the world go by. This is possibly my favourite place in Brussels as the architecture is stunning. Being there a couple of weeks before Christmas made it even cosier!

Weird and wonderful things for sale, together with a load of what I would consider trash but to other people might well be treasure! Nice to wander around and see things from yester-year being sold, give you a touch of nostalgia. Good to visit with nice weather but probably a bit miserable in the rain.

The greatness of Market jeu de Balle is long gone. Nowadays it looks like it's just a bunch of junk and Trash found for free in abandoned buildings. Very sad.

Sunday morning market right outside the Gate du Midi station.
It was extremely busy as well as many stalls selling just about anything you want.
Was great just to mooch around it seeing what's available to buy.
Shame there's no markets left in the UK

We visited Woluwe Shopping Center in July (school holidays in Belgium), which may explain why it was so quiet, despite the fact that summer sales were in full swing. Covid-19 may also have played a role as many people tend to avoid crowded places these days. When it was created in 1968 the shopping mall was the first of its kind in Belgium. Since then, it has been enlarged and refurbished several times and, today, it doesn’t look different from any other mall and you’ll find all the usual suspects. But we did find an unfiltered olive oil we had been looking for everywhere at an Italian Specialty Shop (‘Spécialités italiennes’). There are several pleasant places to have a bite or a drink; the loos were clean. Maybe due to the glass roof of the central hall - a nice feature in itself – it was a bit too hot inside on a warm summer day.

Tram 8 (stop Woluwe Shopping) left us opposite the mall. Metro station Roodebeek on line 1 is accessible from inside the mall.

Reading the reviews, we were amazed Flemish (Belgian) reviewers have been allowed to rant against and even insult French speaking shop assistants and to compare this mall to others, so much better, in Flanders (and even in Germany!). Isn’t that supposed to be against TA rules?

Brilliant exhibitions being shown, a great collection of modern and historic art.
We attended one modern are exhibition, and photographic exhibition on the Harlem area scene in the late 80s, and a collection of historic paintings owned by the Medici family of Florence.
Friendly helpful staff and a lovely venue

We had a nice talk with Daniel and Marta from made in BXL.com and they sell handcrafted statues and toys with a wink :)
Daniel is making this by 3D printing and from own designs.

A blast from the past amidst the modern and arguably rather ugly commercial expressions of the Rue Neuve. Very elegant small scale shops in a pleasant indoor setting. Worth a visit for sure to get some relief from the hustle and bustle.

I went in here to have a simple lunch with my mother. There is a limited choice of food but the choice available is simple and cheap.
I had a sandwich with chicken and curry which was tasty, my mother had the sandwich with ham.
It's a nice place a little separated from the store, a lot like marks and spencers in London.

Unfortunately we couldn't pack some of the items we really liked. Friends in Brussels took us here on our last day - a Saturday - as we whizzed around the city with them after lunch. Amazing array of goods!

Was worth to wait 20 minutes in the queu to buy very delicious cheese. Asked for recommendation and it was on top! Recommend to visit, as owner lady works there and explains everything about their served cheese!

A little bit of everything and the shop keepers are very welcoming and helpful. I loved walking around whilst it was quiet, plenty of parking. Great places to eat, hard to choose where to though. Been 3 times now and discover new shops each time

The Docks Bruxsel shopping centre is located in the north of Brussels, along the canal, which is not the nicest neighbourhood. It occupies the site of the former Godin cast-iron stove factory. A few old buildings have been preserved, but the shopping centre itself is surprisingly modern, spacious, and airy. Signage isn’t great. We didn’t see any floor maps, and it took us quite some time to find the loos in the basement, where we had to pay 1 euro and queue. We enjoyed walking around, but we were surprised there was so little shopping going on in this mall. Even on a Wednesday afternoon, when there is no school, most of the shops were almost empty. Maybe people don’t bother because the offer of shops is very similar to that of other shopping centres in Brussels? The food outlets and cafes are nothing special either. It must be said Docks has several entertainment venues we didn’t visit: a cinema, a Lego Discovery Centre, the Koezio indoor adventure park, and the Espace Godin, an exhibition about the life and work of Jean-Baptiste André Godin (1817-1888). We visited by public transport. Tram 7 stops right in front of the main entrance, Tram 10 stops in front of the Quai des Usines entrance.

If you're in Brussels, do visit the Vintage Market! It's a good place to find old vintage stuff. I got pendants and old vintage rings for my mom which she loved and small box to put jewelry! They have got old cassettes and old branded clothes as well. But only thing is, some stuff is expensive and you have to check.
