What travelers are saying
- Shahlo A1 contributionThe courses exceed my expectations, super professional and friendly coach Rico provided personalised attention to each member of the team.
The small class size ensured ample practice time, leading to noticeable improvements in my technique and confidence in the water. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend for anyone looking to learn or enhance their swimming skills.Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately I can't say the same for their massages.
I got a Thai Massage x3.
They're pretty inconsistent each time even when getting the same treatment.
One time they might include your face to be massaged (but not wash their hands prior - not great for problematic skin), another time they might massage your head, another time they might use tiger balm or not, another time they might ask you to turn over.. whilst staring whilst you do so (this was the final straw for me)Written December 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. One of the things that I have consistently read over the past few months is about staying healthy, eating properly, regular exercise and so on. I tried this Fitness Pass in Amsterdam as there were gyms near where I was staying. It was wasy to buy the pass and get access to the gym... simple but great concept..... defo using again when I go backWritten July 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Valina CAmsterdam, The Netherlands121 contributionsThere is a nice and welcoming vibe in the gym. The gym is of Chris Dolman. There are kickbox trainings for regulars and for fighters/ advanced students.
I have trained kickboxing in Thailand and other places but not one has the level of intensity, fun and diversity as the lessons of sensei Lucien Carbin for the fighting group. He is one of the pioneers of the kickboxing of the 70s in Holland and he is still at the top. His lessons are fast, technical, hard training and fun. He is known for his coaching and has made over 40 champions including Ilonka Elmont, Gilbert Yvel, Allistar Overeem and many more. When you follow his trainings you understand why he has such a succes. He cares for his students, his ability of making students grow amazed me and his style of teaching is inspiring. I enjoy his trainings, he makes me work hard, laugh and creates a vibe where I can make mistakes so I can learn and grow. I find his trainings never boring (and I am very easily bored), always a good challenge, fun and respect for each other is obvious.
So when you come (do call beforehand) make sure you are ready for intense training with fun with the fighting group where giving up and complaining is not an option. You do not need to be a fighter ( I don't do competitions) but it is not for beginners.
Monday is leg-kick-training, Tuesdays & Friday is sparring and Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday is technical training.Written December 18, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The climbing walls are amazing with all kinds of possibilities from young and adults. As we’re real beginners, initial instructions were good. While actually climbing, we become tired after a couple of tries. First time is challenging in many ways but to become exhausted so fast meant that we obviously didn’t do it right. If professionals guided us better ways to save our energy, it would perhaps have helped us greatly. Unfortunately, there’s no one close by, after initial information staffs seemed to disappear until a new client comes in. That’s a bit not nice.
The place, especially the climbing floor could be more clean and tidy, especially not keeping work tools around as there’re kids.
At the beginning, our kid wanted take a photo of the place so went a little bit into the climbing area; we’re immediately told we can’t be there without instruction but then, in the central area m, there was a man with a child playing around. So, this fussing we didn’t get.
We also figured out late (ie after paying for parking) that clients can freely park there car. That’s great if you’re coming from a bit far.Written July 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After being a member for almost a year there are a few things that really put me off. Firstly the classes are all very cardio based aside from the weight class which is usually fully booked. I like cardio but I'd also like some other options. Secondly the image.. I've never seen such an in your face celebration of painfully skinny in my life. Full of images of women everywhere looking like they have eating disorders, smoking, dancing around the gym in underwear and jewellery not working out just sort of lounging around. my friend who has struggled with an eating disorder in the past can't go to this gym because it's a trigger. It's weird. I've been told by the instructors (who don't get me wrong are actually pretty knowledgeable and have clearly been trained well) to 'do the move but make it sexy' - SERIOUSLY, seriously.. it's 2023 and I have to look sexy when I'm working out? Overall this gym is very gender normative and where is the diversity in your advertising??? It all makes for a pretty flat gym experience which is a shame as it's such a beautiful space.Written June 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
