- hzh30Copenhagen, Denmark187 contributionsIf you just have enjoyed dinner at the famous Sea Palace, then walk 100 m you will find OBA. We saw a small photo exbi about Ukraine and another photo exbi about asian rooted people in Amsterdam. Nice place to relax little bit and use clean public toilet for tourists.Written May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ollie3686Norwich, UK354 contributionsHuge arena, great for events however in a sense its 'too big' if not enough people attend. Prefer Ziggo Dome but still great place for eventsWritten March 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Harrison F. CarterCologne, Germany10,425 contributionsYet another wonderful looking building along the beautifully completed Damrak. This main entry point in to the city has been so wonderfully restored. Looks so good.Written November 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JnVSydneyGreater Sydney, Australia13,466 contributionsLocated across from Centraal Railway station, the one stop shop that the visitor needs to enjoy amsterdam.Written January 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jan_LelieUganda779 contributionsI attended two day conference in this venue. Very inspirational rooms, a bit of a labyrint, but nice. Remarkable works of art. Very helpful staff.Written April 14, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Solodam JAmsterdam, The Netherlands34,486 contributionsNAP ( Het Normaal Amsterdams Peil) or AOD is the reference point according to which elevation is measured in the Netherlands. Well, it's actually a very interesting place to know about the water level meter in the Netherlands and also in Europe. There's enough information about the history of the NAP from the short videos, pictures and posters but it's still difficult to understand for someone like me. On the poster, the entrance fee is € 1.00 but sometimes it is free. The most interesting is seeing the relief on the wall before you go downstairs. As you know "Nederland" means Low Countries, you will see the relief shows you the image of amsterdam that was originally under the water level. Amsterdam was built on poles. The location of this visitor centre is in the town hall.Written April 30, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- bas kAmstelveen, The Netherlands29,790 contributionsThe World Fashion Centre Amsterdam on Koningin Wilheminaplein is a commercial centre for importers/dealers in budget garments.Don't expect the glamourous name to be reflected in the quality of the items of clothing for sale here for low prices.
Koningin Wilhelmina is represented by a large concrete sculpture in front of the centre.
The area has a small public park at -Heemstedestraat Metro Stop- offering 2 English style flower- borders maintained by local residents.
Recent building activities have made the area an upmarked residential area.Written September 23, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - LWL3333Wellington, FL18,100 contributionsTo me it seems unfortunate that only two ceilings are available for viewing to the public, while the rest of this large house is private offices. Those two ceilings are extravagently painted and worth seeing if you are in the neighborhood anyway-- the Rembrandt House is just up the street--but I would not go out of my way to find it. A woman on the ground floor welcomed us and gave us 5 minutes in English about the history of the house and the meanings of the ceilings. The colors have remained remarkably brilliant now, over 300 years after they were painted. Our entire visit lasted less than 15 minutes.Written July 2, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Daina Jasmine VSan Miguel de Allende, Mexico47 contributionsCozy and hip place, cultural center. With good Sicilian food homemade by Vicio il mastropastaio and Simone. They have live music events regularlyWritten September 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JSolitudeOstend, Belgium1,121 contributionsI travelled all the way from Belgium to Amsterdam for the Stephan Bodzin gig on 7th November 2021 and overall it was a nice 1st-time experience visiting 'The Marktkantine'.
This is a well-managed club, there was strict Covid Pass control at the entrance (which I highly support) and a strip search.
The atmosphere in the club felt very safe due to all the applied safety measures.
I especially liked the different levels in the venue so you can either enjoy a gig closely from the pit or have a more relaxed stance on the balcony.
Impressive sound system and sparse but efficiently used light gear.
The only downside of the Stephan Bodzin gig was the overwhelming amount of decibels produced and noticeable distortion at times.
i would certainly not recommend standing in the pit or even further back without ear protection. Aside from this small negative, a highly recommendable club.Written November 13, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jokin1982London, UK146 contributionsA great place to buy your rainbow Amsterdam souvenirs! - Chrizzle (she/they)Aachen, Germany3 contributionsPink point is a wonderful place to shop anything pride related, cold drinks and more! The staff is friendly and helpful (pink point also is a LGBTQ+ information point in amsterdam). It’s a place loaded with queer history, right next to the homomonument of amsterdam. You can buy your pride flags, pins, and also postcards :) 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈Written August 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Solodam JAmsterdam, The Netherlands34,486 contributionsNIOD is a knowledge and information center about war, Holocaust and genocide. When my friend asked me to accompany her visiting this place as she had an appointment with someone she knows, I said : yes. After getting what she was looking for, we had a chance to get a short guided tour. Walking and seeing the interior from one room to another room made my jaw drop of amazement. I love the ceilings as every room has different architecture. Grab your chance if you have one.Written December 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- StockholmKindaGuyMarietta, GA7,306 contributionsWhen I travel, I'm always looking for an interesting store to pickup gifts or a souvenir for myself. I look for good design. I came across several stores while in Amsterdam, including this one in Central Station. Everything about this store was well designed, including the window displays which caught my attention and the products for sale. While some of the items focused on the city of Amsterdam, others were made by local craftsman. I was able to find a few things that really appealed to me both as gifts and souvenirs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is located towards the back of the station, going towards the river.Written March 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
