Most of the things and works were not actually in the house and were added later on, so that part isn’t actually authentic. Still very nice, especially his and his pupils’ works. The house itself though is fantastic, you feel teleported in time.

Went to see a concert with the Buenos Aires symphony orchestra. Great performance by both orchestra and the soloist. Staff were very helpful friendly

This is a square and a churchyard surrounded by historic buildings. Nice to see the typical gabled houses that are not lining a canal, so one gets a different perspective. A charming and historic district.

Very crowded but still a very beautiful city. We stayed at Durty Nelly's and would not stay there again. Minimum personal space and no convenient features.

This is a really beautiful synagogue and had a bonus of free entry to the Jewish museum and an audioguide included as part of the ticket. The guide was really interesting and included the history of the synagogue but also how the whole complex. For an insight into how the history of Jews in Amsterdam, this is definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled across this house on our way to rembrandtplein. Decided to go in and enjoyed looking around. Audio is a must.
Can’t beat a good tour. Interesting that a previous curator seems to have got rid of a few things 🤔🤔

Visited Van Loon after having been at Willet-Holthuysen - as we both enjoy visiting period properties.

The house is lovely and the rooms have an interesting mix of decoration (especially the wallpaper!).

There is a lack of information about the house/rooms and items within it (in the UK there would likely be much more information about various items and the previous occupants). If you don't like reading lots of info however, you can just soak up the environs.

There is a small garden and exhibition area in a building at the back with a rather grand facade.

It's worth a visit if you like these kinds of properties, and I would recommend visiting with the I AMsterdam card so that you can maximise value by visiting other museums nearby. I probably wouldn't have paid to go in otherwise.

it's a church situated in the red light district, there is admission fee to visit, and it's quite expensive, so we just took the picture of its exterior. it's beautiful outside.

It's a picturesque bridge that will get you across a wide canal, and it sometimes opens up. People love to watch the action and take a lot of photos and movies.

Hard to review as not entertainment, but importanmt it is seen, interesting and sad.

I thought there could be more on groups like gay's/gypsies etc that were also persecuted in the Holocaust.

Lots of places to sit down and watch the interactive multimedia exhibits, with the stories/interviews with the survivors.

There was lots of security outside and in the foyer, so it did not feel veryt welcoming, but do not be put off, I guess they have to deal with people who may go to cause trouble.

I went to this as I had the Iamsterdam card which gave free access, so worth checking out the Iamsterdam card, as I saved allot of money by using the card and tried a few things I would not have paid for, like this one.

I found the quiet simplicity of this memorial to the murdered Jews of the Netherlands heart-rending. I was particularly moved by the seemingly endless wall of family names of those deported from this former theater to concentration camps, and I was reduced to tears when I discovered on it the family name of one of my university professors, the son of Dutch survivors.

I very much recommend watching the films shown near the reception area. They poignantly and informatively present personal accounts of the World War II experiences of some Dutch Jewish families. Headphones attached to nearby benches allow you to sit and listen in English, while contemplating the enormity of Nazi depravity.

Great audioguided tour through the historic ship. Enjoyed the time travel between the old set up as freight ship into the funky residential houseboat. Lots of knowledge shared about living on the water! Definitely recommended if you are interested in the houseboat lifestyle.

    Educational and interesting tour.
    Tinged with sadness and disbelief.
Well laid out and timed with great guide.
Watched tourist walk by the memorials on the ground without knowing their significance.

My first impression was that Amsterdam was rather dirty and uncared for however having come from Switzerland and Germany before arriving in Amsterdam I think that coloured my thinking. After the first 24 hours there I fell into the swing of things and realised that there is a lot of wonderful and interesting to discover in Amsterdam - it is a very easy city to walk as the footpaths are even and flat. Loved the windmill tour and just generally walking and discovering what Amsterdam had to offer. Was disappointed to get all the way to Museumplein to take a photo by the large AMSTERDAM sign only to find it has been removed due to vandalism

Nice working church - there was a service going on in a side chapel plus full community noticeboards. Admittedly, it was cold inside so only time for a small time for reflection.
