The market was great on Saturday. A range of products and food, at reasonable prices. On Thursday, however, there were many stall holders not there - disappointing.

Just OK as far as i am concerned. Nowadays i saw that there are more flower bulbs being on sale here apparently rather than actual flowers and there are quite a few souvenir shops as well in this area. No harm though to come here, take a quick look and of course to take some photos (if you will like to) when you are in Amsterdam if you were to ask me. Have a nice day!!!✌✌✌

Stumbled upon this market when exploring Jordaan. It’s crazy how it wasn’t on our radar because of how sprawling and popular it clearly is.

Many of the vendors were incredibly open and friendly. Good food too!

This was an unscheduled stop; we ended up near it when my partner took a break at a coffee shop on the square. I don't partake, so I had a few minutes to wander around. I don't think the market itself is a must-see; the building, however, is gorgeous. I absolutely loved taking that in. It's also on a beautiful spot on the canal in one of the oldest parts of the city, so it's a great place to be at sunset. You need not let stories of the Red Light District scare you; it's a very safe area, and the various trades are managed quite well. You see children there in daylight.

The whole of Spuismarkt is a bit of a flea market, but the section set aside for art features local artists displaying the best of their works. Almost all of them are remarkable. But of course, some may appeal to you and others will not.

Local work by local artists is *exactly* what we wanted to bring home with us. Both as gifts for others and keepsakes for our home. We came *this* close to buying some jewelry. But the huge yellow poster by the painter known as Mr. Yellow called out to us more, and it now hangs on a wall in our home. We also bought several hand-carved gifts for our children, but the amazing hand-carved lizard on a tree stump ... oh no, I just can't figure out how to pack it safely into our luggage or carry it onto the plane. Well, there ya go ... local art is sold as much to local residents as to visitors. Our son would have LOVED it.

The Spui market has the art section, an amazing section dedicated to books and books and even more books. Plus the average local flea market.

But the most important feature of the art market--for travelers who are on a tight schedule--is that it's open on Sundays! Most of the markets are closed on Sundays.

Make sure you get some good directions. Not the easiest place to find, however once you get there, there are a lot of choices.

Enjoyable wander around the stalls with so much to see. And so many interesting things to look at. Very relaxed. A wide range of new, craft and old things.

We ran into this market by chance while wandering in the streets of the city. We only spent a short time here but it looked a great place to buy produce. Anything fresh, fruit and vegetables and other foodstuffs, you could buy in what seemed to be reasonable prices. If you are staying in the city for a few days this is a good place to buy your own food.

What a fun second hand shop! There are several in the city. Lots of choices and arranged so it is easy to browse. And the employees are friendly and helpful.
