What travelers are saying
- Sebastian ForbesLimassol City, Cyprus738 contributionsIt's a street market with plenty of colour, plenty of buzz, and worth a walk up and down. Make sure, if you buy something, you get charged the correct price !Written December 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Burh G18 contributionsTravel souvenirs mixed in with native seeds and bulbs, so proceed cautiously. At the north/west end of this market is one of the few booths that offers bulbs for shipment to North America (B Smit).Written August 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anna V11 contributionsWonderful introduction to the century of all these beautiful paintings. Great knowledge and passion in all his storytelling. You will be warmly received and you would wish you would have visited earlier. I will highly recommend this to other friend and business groups, it is an experience like no other.Written February 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Burh G18 contributionsCompared to I like to unwind at the end with a nice glass of red wine at Cafe Daalder, for instance!I enjoy taking my time exploring and finding new things. I purchase fruit, cheese, outerwear, shoes, blouses, t-shirts, and a lot more. After that, I go to The Church to see my preferred book sellers. I always succeed when I buy books on my career and pastime.Written August 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martha3934Greater Melbourne, Australia25 contributionsStaying near this store whilst in Amsterdam and loved it for browsing as well as eating several times in the top floor cafeteria which served freshly cooked food and a variety of cuisines. Would recommend it as a good place to eat quality food and fair prices.Written October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David nManchester, UK4,855 contributionsThe large open space is dominated by the old weighing station - pictured to the left of this review with its turrets and red doors. On most days there seems to be a few stalls - usually a grocer / vegetable stall and sometimes a fast-food van and a fish stall.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lester M8 contributionsThere were seven years between our last visit and the most recent one and admittedly, it has lost its wow factor. There are still a lot of stalls from where you can get your touristy trinkets but there doesn't seem to be a vibe anymore. The lady who sells vintage and antique tins was still there and she is always the highlight of this market. If you haven't been, it is still worth going to check it out, If you have, spend your limited time doing something new and visiting someplace you haven't been to before.Written November 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lenny HAuckland, New Zealand1,032 contributionsDefinitely worth a visit, but don't go out of your way to get there. Cheap cosmetics, reasonably priced cafeteria and good if you need socks or underwear.Written February 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louis F1 contributionAmsterdam is a city worth seeing but while in Europe you must visit Belgium especially Bruges, Ghent and Brussels. Belgium is now my favorite country in Europe.Written August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lenny HAuckland, New Zealand1,032 contributionsA more authentic local market than some of the others. The aisles are very narrow, so it is hard to stop and look around. A great range of produce, although the traditional Dutch chips were missing the day we went.Written February 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laurie PCortland, NY8,606 contributionsThis is a small museum in a cheese shop... and there are so many fine details of cheese making down in the basement. The cheese was good, and the exhibits were also good. The museum is free.

The only drawback is that it is so popular that you can barely move. If you don’t like crowds I suggest you get there right when they open and move quickly beyond the first areas to have a bit of space.Written November 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LeonhknyHong Kong, China23,232 contributionsThis is a small passageway connecting two major streets in downtown Amsterdam. Beurspassage is a short row of stores with impressive paintings and chandeliers. Very photogenic spot for tourists.Written June 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Angharad M12 contributionsThe cookies are amazing!! Not too expensive either, and the tin is cool! The Staff are really friendly, was quiet when we went. Definitely worth the hypeWritten January 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
