Wasn’t sure what to expect, it was either going to be cheesy or way out there. Have read some of the other reviews and all I can say is that there was a whole load of people with big grins on their faces at the end of this experience - and most importantly one of those was our teenager. Really modern, and clean. Entry is efficient and quick. Avoid the “cocktail” counter on the way in. We got Mojitos that were awful.
The venue itself is just a big box. There are large bars along the side, so getting a drink is quick and easy. There is seating at the back on two levels. I believe the whole place is general admission, so if you want a seat - you probably just need to get there early. We stood on the floor (which was totally fine - except when extremely tall Dutch people stand right in front of you).
Overall - it is a venue. A place to see shows of all kinds, and they do it well. It seems that the time was totally stuck in the fiftie's. Rock 'n Roll is everywhere. The women are in petticoat and the men are in greased quiff. Old cadillacs or classic cars are shown in the area. It's really cool. Everyone is very friendly. Despite being busy the service at the bar was fast and the prices weren’t unreasonable, which given the prime location was fantastic. My big issues was that The bouncers were unnecessarily rude to most people. Even the woman in the cloak room was unfriendly bordering on rude . - Savir M3 contributionsThis club is purely for Amsterdam's elite and situated underneath The W Hotel. The ambience from the start is high-class and all employees from security, reps, bartenders provide the highest level of service. The crowd wear the best clothes so be prepared to dress up (buttons for gentlemen is a must!) then drink the best alcohol so also be primed to spend at least €1500 for a table and around €400-€500 for a magnum bottle of vodka which is served in crystal glasses and can be kept behind the bar. Everything is almost perfect, unless, you're like me and prefer Hip-Hop and R&B then be warned - it's limited.
Other than that, I highly recommend this club to party in until the sun comes up. - Viivi V1 contributionYoung people (especially young girls, between ages 15-18) which wasn’t really what we were looking for (the locals also told us that the place is known for letting young girls in). The music was ok, basic pop and hiphop songs, nothing special. The place was also pretty small so the dance floor was crowded and there weren’t really any places where you could just sit for a while.
