*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
The views were great and trip was as advertised. Our guide Raphael presented information in English and Spanish, although it seemed like there were only a small number of Spanish speaking people on the coach. Also, at one point, Raphael answered his own cell phone and conducted a private conversation as the coach was moving. The cable car ride and view from the park at the top was amazing.
A Treasure trove of superlatives!! This is a great tour and very reasonably priced. I learned a lot about Zurich and about Switzerland even though I have lived here for three years - we were taking friends around the city. The narration (in English) is good, clear and interesting but overly full of superlatives and grand statements about Zurich and Switzerland. Its good, love - but its not that good.
The walking tour and bus tour portion went well. Thomas, our guide, was knowledgeable and shared great information. The boat trip was quick, but we got to see a portion of the Zurich lake. The Chocolate Tour was wonderful. The let down to me was the slightly chaotic scramble to get back. I wish the original bus would have picked us up and taken us back. Maybe clarify that with the tour explanation some. Knowing that now, I do recommend this.
The walking tour of Zurich was truly the best way to explore this city with a quick turnaround. Jurg took us to places we would have never seen otherwise. We saw places the people who live in Zurich probably have never seen lol
This was a luxury, small group tour. Our tour guide Fernando Sierra went out of his way to ensure that our day was top-notch. We had short bursts in several places for photo opportunities like the lake at BĂĽrglen. He was honest about wait times and what was involved, including a hike at Brienz to see Giessbach...Worth it! We had to wait for what seemed like two hours (large crowds) to take a gondola to the top of Isenfluh to Sulwald but he told us it would be worth the wait and he was absolutely right!
My wife and I were on our honeymoon and absolutely loved this tour. If you want to get immersed in the Swiss culture, this your offers a good opportunity to learn about a beautiful old Swiss town and see a gorgeous waterfall!
With very little time to see all we could, this day trip made it easy to get out for some hiking and exploration. The bus was comfortable and travel time was comparable to taking a train. Note - there is no bathroom on the bus and no eating/drinking is permitted on the bus. Our guides included Lars, Manuel and driver, Luis. All were super helpful and great! Commentary on the bus ride was interesting yet not so imposing that you couldn't comfortably take a nap if you wanted. I noted others commenting on challenges with finding bus pickup areas. I dropped pin locations on my google maps at any needed stop so we could easily pull the best walking route to be back where we needed to be on time. Our group had no issues with everyone returning to the bus on time. We did like having the flexibility to determine how much time to spend in Grindelwald and what train we wanted to jump on to get back to the bus in Interlaken. We do wish we had more free time overall but remember its just a day trip to give you a taste of the Alps. We had enough time to head to the First Cliff walk (where you'll find a bathroom) and then we walked to Bachalpsee (about 40+ min each way). Many restaurants close between lunch and dinner, so by the time we were done our hike and back down in town we were limited to restaurants with burgers/pizza/fries which were a hard pass for us. In retrospect we would have packed a lunch before boarding the bus and enjoyed a picnic by Bachalpsee. We do wish this trip did not have the initial 1 hour stop in Interlaken. It's too short of a stop to do much of anything other than grab a coffee and quick walk and it's an hour that could be added to your free time in Grindelwald. Typically we are not Tour takers but this one was a nice fit into our single available day and we enjoyed scouting a bit for future longer trips. Staff was great and bus was clean and comfortable.
Enjoyable day trip from Zurich offering the opportunity to take in the scenery around Zurich, Lake Zurich, Lake Walenese along with visits to the old town of Rapperswil, the Principality of Liechtenstein and the home of Heidi at Heididorf. The day was ideal for travel, despite been mid October allowing it to be a pleasure to leave the bus at any of the stops. Only fault would be that at any of the stops there was insufficient time to have a meal - can be a long day from leaving Zurich at 11am before returning at 6:40 pm.
Non stop photo ops, even on the 2 hour bus ride. Weather was a bit dodgy with the blizzard and -16 degree temps, but we were only outside if we chose. Breathtaking tour!
The downtown is full of Christmas lights and very easy to get there with Uber and train pass if you staying for a week or more. The prices are not too crazy for food if compared to London or USA.
Amazing tour with Toni. Fantastic guide, delicious food, sharing tidbits of Zurich’s interesting history along the way. Good value for money, we were so full at the end! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Zurich.
We did this tour as a time filler on one of our last days in Zurich. It was really fun! We got to see parts of the city that we otherwise would have missed. Being able to stop and take a break at any time was handy. We stopped for a glass of wine when we got stuck on a clue ;). My husband said he would have liked more history about the city included but overall we enjoyed the experience.
