What travelers are saying
- 860VetmanBethlehem, PA807 contributionsLooking at the chapel bridge and hearing all the history behind it was amazing. Just to see the craftsmanship involved in constructing this bridge was amazing. As you walk along the bridge there are numerous paintings depicting events of times gone by. It's just a beautiful sight, one that even the best pictures can't capture.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You will have to walk up many stairs within the towers to access the wall, but it is worth the trip. Walking along the wall is also challenging if you are a bit leery of heights. Grab the handrail!!
If you are lucky, you can see some cattle or llamas in the field behind the wall.Written July 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We made it to the top with wonderful views and unexpected findings. The walk back to the hotel along the walls between the towers was very pleasantWritten May 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ken jManalapan, NJ773 contributionsThis church is beautiful and has unique flags inside of fighting groups. But just keep in mind that the Jesuits were responsible for the death of thousands in the area and were cruel and brutal.Written July 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - stantp1916Farakka, India1,247 contributionsThe Nadelwehr or the Needle dam was constructed in 1800s for controlling water level of Lucerne city. We had a quick stop here where our guide explained us how this functions, but didn't have the luck or more so the time to witness its functioning. Would be pretty amazing think. Simple tools put to work effectively !! Great thing is such an old idea of engineering is still functional today.Written December 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - crutt13Pottstown, PA562 contributionsThis was my second time in Lucerne, but first in the cathedral. It was beautiful. I was lucky enough to visit at a time when there were no other people so I was able to take my time to look at the magnificent craftsmanship. The art and architecture is well preseved. The only draw back is that thec literature is all in German. If you have time this is a must see while in town.Written August 29, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
