Basel Paper Mill Museum
#1 of 123 things to do in Basel
If the Belgian "counterpart" is like a fantastic time-capsuling relic, this Basle one is a vivid thing: a well-built museum with a wealth of information in nice and welcoming settings for both adults and children...
Apart from the artefacts on display, the most enjoyable part is the hands-on activities that you can do - especially you can create your own sheet of paper and take it as a souvenir!! kids love it (and also adults).

This place is kid-friendly - there is a fantastic steel slide for those who prefer to use their "Fudi" to descend, as opposed to escalators.
We've eaten here a couple of times before but this time on a Saturday evening and the place is buzzing with a great family atmosphere.

You cannot miss this fantastical facade onto the main Town Square.Deep red with its medieval windows, towers, decoration and detailing the Town Hall is what all children imagine Rapunzal would live in.
I consider this a good place to even take young kids as there is so much to see.

It has lots of space, many attractions for the kids including their favorite climbing tower with slides.
There are places for children to play as well as places for adults to relax far away from those loud happy little people - overall a nice place to spend a warm day in summer or take a walk in the winter.

A gem! If you appreciate art, or have children who will love the intricacies of movement, make this a must see!!
Fabulous for families, this interactive museum is noisy, colorful and fascinating, spoiled only by the hawkish Swiss security regimen.
