I enjoyed the trip by train there. The view was breathtaking and I later learned that it was a part of the world known Glacier Express. Zermatt was a beautiful town. Food was good. The Matterhorn scenery was magnificent. One day trip was too short for me.

Was a great train ride to Gornergrat.
Beautiful sunny day and the climb is spectacular.
So much beautiful scenery and the top was full of snow.
So cool to have a fresh breeze and white perfect snow.
We were a bit lost in the snow but had view of the train track
Love it and what a memory. Just take time to do.

Mont Rigi is a very famous spot of tourism in Switzerland. When you get there, you directly get to understand why. You drive up with a nice and comfortable train. Already during g the drive you get an amazing view over the lake. From the top, you have a 360° panorama, which is lovely.
If you feel like it, you can walk down on foot (the end is very, very steep, though). Otherwise, you can take the train back.
It's definitely a place to spend at least half a day.

It was perfect for the first departure of the day leading to a grand trip ascending.

On arrival the main attraction and most popular was the remarkable Two Lakes Bridge. Superlative vistas over the lakes and countryside are to be savoured.

Amazing views and good facilities at the top. We caught the tram up and then walked back down into Zurich. The walk is very steep, so don’t think it’s an easy amble! We enjoyed it - but underestimated the number of steps and gradient!

We were luck to have a glorious sunny day on the day of our visit and the views from atop were stupendous.

The view of the Melide causeway was indeed spectacular and among the most beautiful sights we had see.

The summit has an eating establishment , though we did not try it, and has relevant bits of information placed all around.

The funicular ride is enjoyable and the originating base station is a quaint , colourful building that makes for good photographs.

The funicular car at the base station is clearly visible and is a nice background for photos.

One should check up on the operation dates of the funicular railway as it closes for a certain time-period for maintenance.

Perfect location, excellent view on the lakes, Diavolezza and Corvatsch just around the corner. Very cosy restaurant with excellent menu. I even had a dinner with live music.

The Eiger Trail is an easy-to-moderate difficulty hiking trail that takes about 3 hours to do. You can go up or down, and we decided to go down — meaning we started at Eigergletscher and ended at Alpiglen.

The views are beautiful and we took lunch to eat along the way. There was also a restaurant at Alpiglen, and we had some ice cream there.

The trail is well marked and easy to follow. And if you Google the hike, you’ll find lots more detail on what to see or do.

It was a fabulous excursion from Montreux. Taking the famous cogwheel train, sitting back relaxing and marvelling at the splendid rolling scenery.

In less than an hour arrived at the summit. From where there were further magnificent vistas across mountains, valleys and Lake.

While some bulk at the very expensive CF 27.00 round trip funicular ride, others can drive or take a bus from downtown.

We walked one hour in the village and got spectacular views of Lake Lugano.

    Well worth it

Remarkable, magical, meserizing trip to the Swiss Bernese Alps, we covered Internaken, Grindwald, Eiger, Gornergratt, Grindwald First, Juangfrau Rotenboden and Matthorn Toberone moutain. The view was breathtaking and mezmerizing and magical with the snow covered mountains, valleys and rooftops of houses and hotels and motels. The valley was full of skiiers and sledgers, holiday makers playing around in the snow. It was truy a phantasmagorical unforgettable trip, surely recommended especially duirng the Christmas holidays.

    PROS
    * Quintessential quaint scenic Swiss village- truly stunning " beyond words"
    * Beautiful and authentic valley surrounded by soaring snow covered mountains
    * Central transportation location hub for many outstanding Alpine peak hikes and outdoor activities- the starting point for incredible amount of world-class day (and longer) hikes and bicycle excursion
    * Starting point for paragliding and base jumping
    * Access point to no-car mountain villages of Wengen and Murren * Not touristy
    * Lodging seems to be less expensive than other famous places in the area

    CONS
    * Now crowded with tourists- it's been discovered
    * Not known for entertainment options- nothing to do in the evening (a good thing)
    * Many backpackers (a good thing)

    “I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because I love it and it is an essential part of any Swiss Alps hiking holiday. I used to write on previous reviews that Lauterbrunnen will be my retirement home.

I first visited in 1982 and then again in 2004 and 2014. I’ve come every year since 2018. This last visit was August 2023. The place is incredibly scenic and unforgettable. For me, it is literally breathtaking- the views, the sights and the sounds. Just being there is its own reward.

I passed through here twice during my August 2023 visit.

The first time, we went up to Murren and Allmendhubel and descended to Stechelberg and walk through the Lauterbrunnen Valley and saw many of the waterfalls and then we hiked to behind the Staubach Falls.

Then later in the week, we returned and ascended by train to Wengen and then to the Mannlichen hike.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
For sure- it's free to go to this village.

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
For sure- that would be at least my eighth visit

    ADVICE
    * There is no question- you must visit here
    * Walk the Bahnhofstrasse to the base of the Staubach Falls and climb the steep slippery path to behind the falls
    * Use the place as a base for access to many fantastic iconic Swiss Alps peak hikes
    * Consider this for (somewhat) less expensive lodging

One can only wonder what Piz Nair is like in winter, but in summer and on a sunny day, it is breathtaking. Access is via the funicular railway from the station above Plazza de la Scoula in St Moritz, to Chantarella, then another funicular to Corviglia (can get off and on at both stops) and then a cable car to the peak at over 3000m. The total journey can be about 30 minutes and you will be rewarded at the top. Not cheap at the equivalent of about $A130 (79 CHF), but we were so lucky with our hotel, Hotel Soldanella, providing us with complimentary tickets for transport in and around St Moritz, on the basis we stayed there for 2 nights.
Once you're up the top, the views over the surrounding area are just spectacular - lakes, valleys, mountains, townships - and on the funicular out of St Moritz, you can look down over the town. All facilities are available at the top and at each stop - toilets, cafes, restaurants. While we were there, mountain bike competitions were being run.
Just do it and admire the views.

The trip was wonderful l and memorable. The tour guide was very helpful and friendly especially since I have Parkinson sickness. Guide was very kind to inform us about weather condition to decide whether we should go up the mountain.
