*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
surprisingly large piaaza for the size of the city. Surrounded by interesting building and access from all directions. Interesting to see the entire surface is sloppy without any flat area

If I had to choose one of the most beautiful cities I’ve been to, Siena would probably take the win. Beautiful city, beautiful landscape, colors, and history. It delights me again and again!

A surprinsingly nice and interesting museum, displaying some really nice mural paintings telling us more about the history of the city. Unfortunately, the tower was closed due to bad weather during our visit.

The visit to this place will allow you to enjoy a panorama otherwise difficult to find, even from the artistic point of view. There are several exciting works (including a "Madonna and Child" by Donatello) that you will visit moving along the museum that then leads you to the panorama. I would like to point out some beautiful works of goldsmithing (the golden rose) of unforgettable beauty. Then you go up, but don't be put off by the ramps of stairs that are too narrow towards the end. The spacing is fairly guaranteed because the employees are careful to get people up in groups that are not too large. Stay time is limited , but not overly short. Definitely a recommended stop.

July 2018. A bit late for a review but just to add to the positivity...it really lived up to my expectations. We stayed inside the walls - a bit expensive but well worth it for the experience. The practice run the day before was super. The atmosphere around the town was incredible. We stayed in the snail contrada. Brilliant. The build up was very cool. It is really genuine amongst the people of siena, not a tourist attraction. We were offered tickets for the dinner the night before by the hotel, we skipped it, thought we'd be out of place. Massive regret. But still exploring the city the night before was great nonetheless.

What a nice surprise! We bought the ticket at the Palazzo Pubblico, not really knowing what it was going to be. It turns out the mueseum tells us the story of this building, which operated as an hospital for centuries. The viist is very interesting, and takes far more time than we first expected.

This very large church has a beautiful exterior, and a rather plain interior. It is free to enter, although we left a donation. Not the showiest church in town, but worth a visit.

We stopped at the Casa di Santa Caterine di Siena. It was early evening in November and the courtyard was in shadow. We stopped and quietly admired the Chapel.

The frescoes in this crypt tell some absolutely unique stories. Especially the works depicting scenes from the apocryphal gospels (such as Jesus at school) are very impressive. The crypt is included in the OPA Pass, so overall it doesn't cost much.

Unfortunately, the baptismal font is under restoration, so it is not visible; the biggest problem, however, is the lack of audio guide or information material. Rimane comunque un bel luogo da visitare.

a little valley just outside one of the city gates, the Orto de Pecci offers a green escape with a nice restaurant just close by. a historic little garden, some animals around and plenty of ground for children to play make it a popular family place.

The museum also gives access to some of the best views of Siena.
The contents of the museum are decent, but not spectacular. One exceptional thing is that they have remounted one of the windows from the cathedral. This gives you an unusual and exceptional close of up view of stained glass that you rarely ever get.
