Buy the earliest tickets you can, take water, and prepare to be awed by the awesome experience and we'll deserved view of the inside of the dome (silence please) and the 360 degree view from the top. When you finish, look back up and imagine where you climbed to get there. - Luke T8 contributionsThe entire plaza in Florence is well worth a visit and we would 100% recommend visiting it. It was the most beautiful city we saw when we were travelling around Italy and it is a must-see! If you book the tickets on the official website for the landmarks (see here - Opera Duomo Firenze) you can choose different types/groups of tickets to suit you. We would have loved more time in Florence as we were only there for 2 days, 3 days would be perfect as it is quite expensive to eat/stay (more expensive than Rome!) but the views from the dome and tower are breath-taking!

The art itself is intense, a lot going on in those scenes.... The stairs could be quite narrow in some areas, but overall the climb wasn't too bad. The only downfall is having people who are crowding around while trying to climb. It contains the other 2 Pietas done by Michaelangelo.

You take a lift to the top and then you can stay up there as long as you want. And see the cell of Savonarola, the Mad Monk of the Medici times. Near the David.
