Bring your own wired earbuds with a a standard audio Jack to plug into the provided radio — the provided ones are worse than junky airline ones and the museum is crowded and loud so it is well worth being able to hear what you paid for.

Great view point and wonderful for sunset! Easy hike as well, not too steep. It can get crowded as it is not a 'best kept secret', but it's a very pleasant place with a nice atmosphere.

This was a 'cultural marathon' and it was simply a remarkable and astonishing experience. The skip the line tickets are a must and the audio guide was excellent. 'David' was magnificent and fulfilled all of our expectations.

We had a fantastic time, piggybacking on a free tour with a very welcoming guide Dan.

I recommend you email him (danharperflorence@gmail.com) for a charming, fun and well-informed tour of this beautiful church.

Santa Croce is fantastic, I like to think of it as Italy's answer to Westminster Abbey - and what a beautiful answer it is!

What an amazing experience. Buy the earliest tickets you can, take water, and prepare to be awed by the awesome experience and we'll deserved view of the inside of the dome (silence please) and the 360 degree view from the top. When you finish, look back up and imagine where you climbed to get there. You will be surprised at where you climbed!

The entire plaza in Florence is well worth a visit and we would 100% recommend visiting it. It was the most beautiful city we saw when we were travelling around Italy and it is a must-see! If you book the tickets on the official website for the landmarks (see here - Opera Duomo Firenze) you can choose different types/groups of tickets to suit you. We would have loved more time in Florence as we were only there for 2 days, 3 days would be perfect as it is quite expensive to eat/stay (more expensive than Rome!) but the views from the dome and tower are breath-taking!

The opera del duomo museum is not to be overlooked either as it gives you so much history and background to the city of Florence as well as the Piazza del Duomo.

Impressive architecture, quality food, and plenty of shopping! Not to mention the delightful gelato! Took an eye-opening tour of the Palazzo Vecchio as well.

Climbing to the top of the dome was an incredible way to see views of the city, and of course the artwork of the dome.

The art itself is intense, a lot going on in those scenes.... The stairs could be quite narrow in some areas, but overall the climb wasn't too bad. The only downfall is having people who are crowding around while trying to climb. This was a perfect way to spend a day while it was raining outside.

This place has an amazing collection of baroque and neoclassical paintings. In my opinion it’s even far superior to Accademia gallery.

This is another piazza you just can't miss when in Florence. Surrounded by old buildings, it's perfectly beautiful. Though not the place to necessarily hang out for long if you don't want to be surrounded by gazillions of tourists!

There are several historical religious buildings in Florence. In my opinion, this one is the most beautiful, although others seem to be more popular. It is located on a hill, with very nice views of the city.

The range of foods is great. We had the stuffed canoli (with ham), trapezzini with pork, the mixed seafood grill, and biscotto gelato with chocolate, all from different stalls.

The Duomo museum has the best from the actual Duomo. The statues are amazing.
It contains the other 2 Pietas done by Michaelangelo.
The original Baptistry doors are here in addition to the door competition.

Worth every penny just for the veiws. You can see the whole of venice from a great hight. You take a lift to the top and then you can stay up there as long as you want. We had to go but I would recommend staying till closing time just to see the sunset go down over venice.

Beautiful monastery decorated by one of the great pre-Renaissance painters, Fra Angelico. No crowds. And see the cell of Savonarola, the Mad Monk of the Medici times. Near the David. See both.
