This was a perfect introduction for first time opera visitors. Only an hour, a variety of aria's in a intimate setting. Plus go early and check out handmade shoes across the street!

A last minute addition to our Italian adventure took us to dinner and an Opera performance.
As many reviews have mentioned, directions are poor, so read the confirmation carefully and have maps ready.
Dinner for us was a nice experience, with the wait staff attentive and correcting a Gluten Free meal option that was not passed on with the booking, with little fuss.
The concert was great. We are no opera connoisseurs but throughly enjoyed the venue, atmosphere and performances; including the young ballet performers

We had a lovely evening at this concert, in a lovely little church in Florence. We don't know very much about classical music so can't comment on the quality, however we both thoroughly enjoyed it, and thought the singers were very good. A perfect introduction to classical music and where better to do it than Florence. One note though, it was unbearably hot in the church.

Being in Florence for 6 days on my own and never having been to an opera in my life, I thought this could be the right time and the right place to finally make that first encounter. And what shall I say: It definately was a good decision. The singers we're amazing, the church had a very intimate and special vibe to it, the crowd was very well behaved and clapped on the right spots and Ilse and her husband did a very good job hosting the event and explaining the plot before each of the 4 acts. In case you're wondering: Casual clothing is completely appropriate. Yes-there will be a break after act 2. Yes-there are restrooms. I would definately suggest visiting this event-when do you get the chance to see a real opera singer just 2 m away in an old church? In Florence-the capital of culture in Toscany? Right...It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Glad I didn't miss out on mine.

The service at the restaurant was great, but the pizza was watery…lower quality cheese? The concert was excellent. The only thing I would warn people about, especially if attending in the summer months, is that there is no A/C in the church. There are a few fans, but it is stifling in there. I read somewhere that the dress code was smart casual so we dressed in long pants and that was a huge mistake. Wear cool comfortable clothing. Don’t worry about following a dress code. Lots of the audience members were in shorts. We were miserable because we weren’t.

The three gentlemen who performed were terrific. Lots of familiar Italian songs.
The church was an OK venue, but only had a small audience. As other
reviewers mentioned, the ballet dancer was distracting. She was lovely, but not an addition to the performance as a whole, Fun hour in beautiful Rome.
