Most people would say that their favorite Museum in Florence is the Uffizi or the Academia or maybe the Pitti Palace with it's numerous museums; but my favorite has always been the Bargello.
The interesting, ancient building and the finest collection of sculpture from the Florentine Renaissance make this one of my favorite museums in Florence.

The list of great museums in Florence is sizeable, of course, but this one is near the top with it's gorgeous display of the original Doors of Paradise and the new re-creation of the Duomo facade with original sta...
The other museums specialise in church art and archeology, within the museum is an amazing room of very ancient fresco saved from a different location and remounted as it would have been.

One of the few free museums in Florence.

I loved visiting this place, because it shows, more than all those other fabulous art galleries and museums and churches, a glimpse of what actually living in a 15th century palazzo might have looked like.
A great change from all those art museums and churches !! Do a tour in English which takes you all the way to the top story.

Nice cross section of the artists both Guggenheims collected from their museums as well as pieces of the same artists from other museums on loan.
Highly recommended to people wanting to discover a different side of Florence, beyond the (equally spectacular) Uffizi museum.

I was amazed at all the inventions and the interactive exhibits, great for children too, as they get to see and dream about inventions!! Small museums, interesting videos, and amazed about this genius of Leonardo!
Several Leonardo museums and exhibitions here and this one is a more modernistic take on his works, having drawings, papers and some models of his inventions.

If you get overdosed on Madonna-and-Child paintings in Florence, this is the perfect antidote: a wonderfully organised museum, entirely devoted to the works of Marino Marini, in a former church in the centre of th...
This Museo is housed in the de-consecrated Church of San Pancrazio & is a private museum principally dedicated to preserving & showing the work of the internationally recognized artist Marino Marni.

:) I got a ticket that covered this museum, the Paleontology museum, and the Botanical Gardens but it was too cold to visit the gardens and I had visited them on a previous visit.
