- Sylvia ENew York City, NY7 contributionsThis was great tour, and a fabulous way to explore Tuscany. Our fellow tourists were excellent company and gave us lots of tips for other cities we planned to visit.
There is one caveat: these huge tour buses have to park a good distance from the center city, both in Florence as well as during the tour. In particular, the path from downtown Sienna to the bus is a long hike UPHILL OVER COBBLESTONES. Upon our return to Florence at the end of a very long day, we had to walk some 15 minutes in pouring rain to get back to the station. It’s a great trip, but arduous at points. We would never have been able to have this experience on our own. We visited two beautiful wineries in the Tuscan countryside, and tried 4 wines at each. Both also provided some delicious food to eat as well. The trip was smooth, and we learnt so much about the wine and olive oil industry. There was a family there and he included the children and made them feel special which I really appreciated. The Florence Pizza and Gelato Class turned out to be the best activity I did in my 6 weeks of travels. Cris, Arla and Tiziano were amazing; so friendly and informative. They were simply brilliant. The location was superb too.
