I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get out of the city for a day and experience Italy’s incredible nature and history (there are 2,000+ year old Roman bridges that you walk under/over).

I spent a couple of days walking along the miles of almost empty and driftwood filled beach and later towards sunset went riding into the park on a magnificent Maremanna horse from a local Agriturismo.

We rented bikes from Porto Ercole (Delores Rentals) and cycled through the national park - it was just gorgeous and lovely getting away from all the tourist.
This is a protected natural park with a 8 km natural road that you can ride by bike or enjoy walking or jogging (no cars).
