Guisepe or “Pepe” was a great guide. We hiked as far to the summit as possible after taking the cable cars up, we were in “orange” warning so we could not summit to the top but it was still an experience I will never forget. Pepe helped me down a particular part of the Volcano because I was having trouble and offered me his pole and kept an eye on me, which eased my fears! Thank you for a great experience. The trip was about 5-6 hours in total, we stopped at various points to see different craters and lava/rock formations, had a 20min self brought lunch at the top, and made our way down a different route. Wearing layers helped, bc it was pretty windy and a little chilly at the top. I wore a windbreaker, sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt with hiking pants. We were provided with hiking shoes but if you can I recommend bringing your own for comfort.
