- nicholas g1 contributionOur driver (guiseppe) was very knowledgeable, and speaks terrific English. Ask him any questions about local eateries or places and he has an answer, we were never let down! Didn't realise they did excursions, any time we needed a taxi we called guiseppe, sent our location and we was there within 20 minutes day or night to take us where we wanted to go. He went out of his way to ensure that we had a comfortable transfer whilst also allowing us multiple opportunities to do some sightseeing along the way. - Happy Guest4 contributionsDario Cafiso with Tour Barocco was our driver during a day trip in Sicily. Our travel expert who has been to Italy over 60 times arranged all our hotels drivers and guides. She knows who and where is the best, and Dario Cafiso certainly fits into that category. We didn't have to guess who to use, or where to stay, we just went with her plans. Dario is a very pleasant person and an excellent safe, smooth driver. His Mercedes Van was clean and comfortable. He made the day special with his knowledge of the area and professional manner. We will always arrange to have him as the driver in the future. We've booked some tours over the years but Sicily by Day by Day have to be the best! Customer service and communication first class. Tour guides exemplary. Reasonable prices. I've never seen so much passion from tour guides from start to finish.
Nothing was too much trouble. Our car rental (with another company) that we had booked online in advance only accepted MasterCard or Visa credit cards to hold for a deposit on arrival (make sure you check your rental agreement carefully!) so we were left without a car. The gentlemen at D'urso in Catania airport found us a car at a very reasonable price straight away. The car was perfect and didn't come with any hidden extras. The drop off was quick and easy - they even sent a video via whatsapp to show you exactly where to park. - Jonathan LColumbus, GA107 contributionsThis is tour service to climb Mt. Etna that was arranged through our hotel, AirOne. I would like to give it five stars as the driver was extremely friendly and accommodating. However, the advertisement notes that lunch is included. This was not the case. We were given five small almond dessert treats. This is important as you definitely need to have a lunch to take with you on your climb. Additionally, what you are really paying for is transportation to the basecamp. If you arrange your own transportation and make a reservation with one of the many tour companies you will save about 50 euros per person. I am happy to pay for luxury. The driver, Bruno, was very friendly, professional and helpful as he gave us some tips about places where to taste proper sicilian food!
