- 284wendy4 contributionsThe weather wasn’t great and was snowy and icy which caused some other trips to be cancelled. The cable car was not open due to the weather but our guide Guiseppe helped us organise a quad bike tour which was really fun and I would recommend. It was very well organised. The wine tasting was excellent with 4 wines tasted and olive oil. We were provided with lots of great tasting food so go hungry. We bought lots of wine and oil but there was no pressure to buy
Guiseppe was fun and really knowledgeable and was happy to answer questions and give recommendations of places to eat and places to visit

Our tour guide really knew his stuff, he drove us around in a comfortable minibus, and took us to interesting locations that fully explored the natural history of Etna. Afterwards we went to the Vineyards and wine cellars of Gambino wines.

He was very knowledgeable and took us to the best spots in town for classic Sicilian food. His knowledge of Catania’s history and his recommendations for food and wine were exceptional. - Anne WSan Diego, CA14 contributionsOrazio was a great guide from beginning to end! He brought the energy early and was able to connect 4 different groups who attended the tour seamlessly.
We visited two wineries. One for tasting with small snacks where we learned about local viticulture, and another where we focused more on lunch while still enjoying local wines!
The pickup and drop off from our hotel was great for us given the craze of the Taormina roads during high season.

The vineyards were incredible, especially the first one Emilio’s.
We learned a lot with the presenters.
The tour guide, Andrea, was extremely knowledgeable, he answered all our questions in deepth.
His English fluency and vocabulary were great. The pick-up was perfectly on time, he was very polite and courteous.
At the end of our tour, after we were dropped off at the our Hotel, my son noticed he did not have his wallet.
We sent a message to the office through whatsapp and immediately they checked the van and Andrea, kindly drove back to our hotel with the wallet. What relief! He picked us up at our hotel promptly and kept us updated on what to expect throughout. He was very considerate of us as passengers and tourists and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him. Luckily we had a perfect day to see the craters (no rain and no clouds while we were there). We stopped at the honey “farm” before heading to the Gambino Winery for lunch and a wine tasting. As with the tour and driver, the winery was beautiful, food and wine good, and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. - Sheila SFort Wayne, IN8 contributionsWe had an amazing day with Manuel! He picked us up close to our hotel and we headed off for Mount Etna! Along the way we stopped at a honey farm where we were able to taste different flavors of honey. Also, We were given an education about the bees! A quick note: this was the most economical place to purchase the honey. We continued our journey, stopping along the way in a quaint town, where we visited that beautiful cathedral. Then we headed to Mount Etna! The views were breathtaking! Manual took pictures of our group at all of our stops, he was very very kind. We stopped at a restaurant on the mountain and we enjoyed chocolate tastings and some of creamier alcoholic drinks that are sold all over Sicily. Both were delicious. It was nice to be able to sample the products. We then went off the beaten path to enjoy a stunning area in a private serene place. He taught us all about the chestnut trees, the volcano, and the history of the area.
We ended our tour at the famous Gambino winery. I can’t say enough good about this place. It was beautiful and the wines were outstanding. We had a pairing with many different foods and many different wines! You will not leave hungry! Each table was appointed, an educator about the wines and the food -which were all local to the area. The 2015 Etna wines were our favorite!
He delivered us back to our hotel! Safely (you will know what that means when you get here-lol).
