This is a great example where a good initiative can help a whole town. The people there are enthusiastic and seem to have a community.
It appears to be working in helping rejuvenate a deserving town.
The various galleries and installations will polarise, but that's good and there should be something there for everyone.
Recommended if only as a contrast and to support a worthwhile endeavour.

It's one of the few modern-looking buildings in Taormina. And that's why it's not blending in the surroundings.
Easy to find because it's adjacent to the taxi station and very near Porta Messina.
Apparently it works as some sort of tourist info point as well, but we didn't try it.

Went to this fair by chance as heard about it whilst looking up local feasts. Huge variety of stalls but you must walk quite a distance to get to the actual stall grounds which are about half a kilometre from the entrance. On the day we visited there was a dancing horse competition and we also came across the local artisans who produce the horses' costumes and intricatley worked saddles. Definately a must.mIt is usually on in the first weeks of November.
