What travelers are saying
- William PGlendale, AZ1,266 contributionsWhat a super set of views from this piazza! You look down at the beautiful shoreline below Taormina and onto the countrysides of the surrounding villages, all surrounding the Bay of Naxos. The views are truly picturesque and spectacular! We only were there during the day, but I can imagine that the evening views would be at least as beautiful!Written November 15, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WitchyYorkStrensall, UK884 contributionsInside the church you can see where it was carved from the rock, as this still exists as part of the roof. A lovely little place with frescoes of flowers painted around the arches.Written May 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- phat_dawg_21Alpharetta, GA12,262 contributionsThe north coast of Sicily has some of the best beaches, and Cefalu is fortunate to have such a long stretch of beautiful sand. It is lined with historic buildings and a choice of several beach clubs where you can rent lounges and enjoy a meal.
Across from the promenade are many interesting shops, cafes, and restaurants.Written August 16, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - phat_dawg_21Alpharetta, GA12,262 contributionsThis partially pedestrian street leads off from Piazza Duomo. It is a great way to visit a number of the points of interest including the Giardino Bellini, several churches, Piazza Stesicoro, and the Monumento a Vincenzo Bellini, all of which are located along it.Written August 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- josephine gRome, Italy31 contributionsNear to Lipari town but you need a car or moped or taxi to arrive. Take a 10-15 walk to the cliff edge to get magnificent views of the coastline. Worth it.Written September 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ronoroaComo, Italy2,711 contributionsThis is the main street of the inhabited center of San Leone where you can find many restaurants, ice cream and bars. Much frequented by tourists in the evening for the locals and the afternoon for its beaches (not recommended for my opinion because the sea and the beach are dirty).Written August 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- EmilyB8 contributionsCute little stairs that have very nice and supportive things written on the walls. The stairs are a bit long but if not, recommend just stopping by and visiting it (the things are written in italian)Written July 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Stewart CChatham, UK832 contributionsWe found this little park area by the harbour side in Messina when our cruise ship was docked in the port for a day. We had completed a walking tour of the city using a fairly basic tourist map and now was exploring the immediate harbour area before returning to the ship. The little park here gave us one of our most abiding memories of our visit here.
The park had some trees giving welcome respite from the hot Sicilian sun and also an artistic fountain the ‘Fontana Bios’ which was running with water and there were small groups of people here and there enjoying the late afternoon sun.
The park gives some lovely views back over to the port where our cruise ship was moored and also to the statue of the Madonna perched on her lofty vantage point at the entrance to the harbour.
However, what made the scene for us, was a group of ‘older’ men congregated at the railing with one fishing for small fish in the harbour. What looked to be a family group of feral cats were watching the fisherman intently, obviously waiting for some scraps. The whole scene looked ‘timeless’, and will remain with us forever. We watched this lovely scene for a while and enjoyed the ambience of the park and its surrounding area, before returning to our ship past the yacht marina. A lovely way to end a walking tour of the port, thankyou Messina!Written July 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Vincent BBristol, UK956 contributionsThis is the main Piazza in town and from which you can navigate around the principal streets of the town centre. There are a number of shops and a few restaurants and cafes right in the Piazza.Written August 12, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BelpolCwmbran205 contributionsWeI recommend this area as its lively but also peaceful and with beautiful views of the coast and the port area further along.Written July 5, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
