What travelers are saying
- IrishFan-80Lancaster, PA5,165 contributionsWe walked up the Via Crucis steps and loved the Stations and views. All amazing! Then the Church in a cave was a special visit before the Castello. Highly highly recommend if in shape!?
Peace.Written September 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is small and cozy.
Different experience from many other beaches in the island.Written October 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The internet said free admission but some local entrepreneurs had set up an operation so it cost us 5 euros each to enter the small tower and the upper floor of the church
The lower floor of the church was open to all
Some interesting history associated with this locationWritten October 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Modern but poetic I every sense - wish you could go for sunsetWritten September 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a hot, steep walk up to the church from the town square but there are tuk-tuk rides available. It is probably best known as being the church where Michael Corleone and Apollonia were married in the Godfather but it is full of information about the history of the church and St Lucy celebrations which was really interesting. It cost 2 euros to enter - cash payment only.Written June 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Timothy B3 contributionsWhat an incredible view. It's a Sicilian UNESCO heritage sight nestled amongst ancient houses....leave the huge cars at home.Written September 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jusajaFinland648 contributionsThere is not much to see here: a Simple lighthouse in a nice spotting to the sea: 5 minutes is enough.Written July 6, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TonyCounty Dublin, Ireland30 contributionsDo not visit.
We had a week booked here in September 2022 but left after 3 days as the place is terrible.
There is nothing here for tourists to do or see apart from some restaurants and a harbour.
We expected a quaint fishing harbour but unfortunately we got a dirty, run down and unsafe fishing village. The beach is small and stoney and any decent beaches are a train ride away.
The paths are virtually non existent and when there are paths they are broken and uneven. The roads are not much better. Not a place for people who do not drive or more importantly have mobility issues !Written September 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - quantockmTaunton, UK298 contributionsScopello is a attractive little village with several bars and restaurants. Very quiet out of season but worth a visit. The tower is easily reached from the parking areas and is a steady climb of about 20 minutes. Views from the top are superb over the village, the old tuna factory and wide expanse of coast.Written March 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniela VCervo, Italia1,654 contributionsNot open to the public, it is rumoured to become a theme hotel. It used to be the main lighthouse of the island, still taken as a landmark by mariners.Written May 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
