We walked up the Via Crucis steps and loved the Stations and views. All amazing! Then the Church in a cave was a special visit before the Castello. Highly highly recommend if in shape!?
    Peace.

Cala Uccello is small beach, which could be accessed from a road with borders the airports fences. It is small and cozy.
Different experience from many other beaches in the island.

Lovely building and lovely view of the city

The internet said free admission but some local entrepreneurs had set up an operation so it cost us 5 euros each to enter the small tower and the upper floor of the church

The lower floor of the church was open to all

Some interesting history associated with this location

We'd not about this place until the morning of our visit - spectacular and spiritual and there's a very touching scene in the film 'L'uomo delle Stelle' (the Star Maker) which always touched me (the poetic shepherd scene) which when you close your eyes encapsulates that moment

Modern but poetic I every sense - wish you could go for sunset

For us this was the most interesting part of our visit to the town. It is a hot, steep walk up to the church from the town square but there are tuk-tuk rides available. It is probably best known as being the church where Michael Corleone and Apollonia were married in the Godfather but it is full of information about the history of the church and St Lucy celebrations which was really interesting. It cost 2 euros to enter - cash payment only.

The Belvedere offers a stunning view of Castellamarre del Golfo down below and its surroundings. If you are driving by, it is well worth the stop.

What an incredible view. It's a Sicilian UNESCO heritage sight nestled amongst ancient houses....leave the huge cars at home.

There is not much to see here: a Simple lighthouse in a nice spotting to the sea: 5 minutes is enough.

    Do not visit.

We had a week booked here in September 2022 but left after 3 days as the place is terrible.

There is nothing here for tourists to do or see apart from some restaurants and a harbour.

We expected a quaint fishing harbour but unfortunately we got a dirty, run down and unsafe fishing village. The beach is small and stoney and any decent beaches are a train ride away.

The paths are virtually non existent and when there are paths they are broken and uneven. The roads are not much better. Not a place for people who do not drive or more importantly have mobility issues !

The Belvedere in Enna has absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains and valleys and other hilltop towns. A definite must see when in Enna. Just relax and enjoy the view!

Scopello is a attractive little village with several bars and restaurants. Very quiet out of season but worth a visit. The tower is easily reached from the parking areas and is a steady climb of about 20 minutes. Views from the top are superb over the village, the old tuna factory and wide expanse of coast.

Not open to the public, it is rumoured to become a theme hotel. It used to be the main lighthouse of the island, still taken as a landmark by mariners.
