Our morning trip up this peak overlooking the city was a delight. First, we caught a bus from the centre of the city all the way up the winding road (magnificent views) to Santa Rosalia's shrine.

After spending some time at the shrine we decided to walk back down instead of taking the bus and we took the path rather than the road which follows a slightly different routes. The final bit with lots of switchbacks is particularly dramatic, but the whole thing is amazing.

Scopello is a attractive little village with several bars and restaurants. Very quiet out of season but worth a visit. The tower is easily reached from the parking areas and is a steady climb of about 20 minutes. Views from the top are superb over the village, the old tuna factory and wide expanse of coast.

A beautiful walk to a beautiful church, in a beautiful location with beautiful views! That alone should entice anyone, but the fact that this is THE church used in Godfather part one wedding filming is unmissable!

A beautiful little church at Madonna della Rocco, stunning interior with the rock roof. Great views of Etna. Accessible by road or a walk up the 540 steps with great views en-route! Worth a visit!

cool view over the Mediterranean Sea, see Lipari's beach, the Isle Vulcano and even a sneak view of the Isle Sicily. We took the walk up and down in a footwalk using the hardly known "Strada San Leonardo" a roman ancient stone path.

The Belvedere offers a stunning view of Castellamarre del Golfo down below and its surroundings. If you are driving by, it is well worth the stop.

This is a beautiful place to visit in the afternoon just before sunset. The changing colours and the view from the theatre is stunning on a clear day. I liked one of the instructions on the noticeboard on the way in: Listen to the silence! :-)

It's 10 euro entrance fee and you can book through their Facebook page. Best to book in advance due to the current situation with Covid.

The first part of the town that you come to, this square is beautiful with its patterned stones and the view over Taormina, Etna and the surrounding area is wonderful - it's like you are on the top of the world. Lots of benches to sit and take in the view and the town is pretty with lots of bars and cafes. well worth a visit.

The drive is not for the faint hearted we complemented our coach driver! The view over the city was spectacular but we were not given time to enter. The bell standing at the side looked enormous but in the short time we had it did not ring, Be aware of pedlars and Beggars either in or outside attractions

    Well this Bastion is fantastic.
Typical structure and artefacts of its time. Beautiful alters and statues.
What got my attention was the glass case showing the figure of Jesus with wound to his side and as if he was staring to the heavens, dressed in a white cloak and looking very serene.
Go have a look if you pass through.

Cala Uccello is small beach, which could be accessed from a road with borders the airports fences. It is small and cozy.
Different experience from many other beaches in the island.
