Beautiful fountain in the city centre with walkways on two levels although the upper level was closed off when we visited this time. Built in 16th century, it has over 50 statues and the four sections represent the seasons. Also known as the Fountain of Shame due to the naked statues that offended people at the time.

A lovely little tranquil place among the tourist chaos above. Loads of fish swimming and ducks that nest there. You cannot get down to the waters edge as the gate was locked. You can see the spring bubbling up and keeping the water fresh. Lovely place to while away a few minutes.

Set in the middle of a square, the fountain is quite stunning. On a hot day you can sit by it and enjoy the lower temp there as the water cools the air. Great spot to sit a while and people watch. Couple of bars and restaurants close by.

The fountain is fed by the Amenano River and it's situated at the entrance to the famous fish market. It was sculpted in 1867 and is a busy area by day and night.

While we were waiting for the spectacle of the astronomical clock tower to start, we tried to look at the neighbouring fountain more closely.
It was being renovated and covered with dense scaffolding. Nevertheless, we managed to see some intricate details both on the tall central structure and on the wide circular basin.

It is under restoration so not really easy to see. Should be nice when the project is complete. It seems large from the picture but is small.

The fountain is attractive. There is a female minotaur at the top which is a Taormina City symbol.

Most importantly it is one of few spots where water is running which you can splash over you to cool yourself on a hot day.

This is a baroque and unique structure in the center of town, facing the valley which carries the clear water from a local river and spring which serves as aqueduct, fountain, mill and theater stage. Original and interesting. Similar to many other similar attractions in Sicily, it is not well maintained and the space nearby is filthy.

Between the theatre and the church you can find a beautiful fountain. Located near a tall pine, it is really nice

Attractive fountain in front of the cathedral surrounded by greenery and huge palm trees - plenty of seats if you want to take a rest.

It was nice to run into this statue of Persephone being removed to the Underworld while walking up the street in Enna. This is a pleasant hill town that allows cars about everywhere, which makes it a bit challenging to walk around and breathe at the same time. Popping over to the side where a little park and wide pedestrian area beckons, you see this statue that reminds you of why Sicily is so cool.

This fountain and statue located in the Medieval City honors the legendary founder of the city of Trapani. Interesting during the day, but prettier in the evening.

Located in the middle of Piazza Vincenzo Bellini , opposite the famous Teatro Massimo Bellini (See separate reviews) ,
The fountain was errected here in 1950 . Originally , since 18th Cent. - it was part of Chiesa della Badia di Sant'Agata , disigned by architect Giovani Battista Vaccarini .
Only ywo of the dolphins in this lovely fountain date back to the old monument , while the other two copies are made by sculptor Salvatore Giordano .
It is not a must , but it is lovely enouigh to enjoy if you are in the area .

In the centre of Piazza Rivoluzione is Fontana del Genio - Fountain of Genius. The sculpture was created in 16th Century but the identity of the sculptor is unknown. It was originally located on the Fontana del Molo Nuovo but in 1687 it was transferred to Piazza Rivoluzione. It is striking fountain in a residential square in the Kalsa District of Palermo.

We stumbled on this statue by accident, right when we were leaving town by foot to go get our bus. Just enough time to get some pictures. Quite an original statue that left a final impression of Marsala and it's "spirit".
