- Brian & AngelaKildare, Ireland10 contributionsStunning beach with white sand and crystal clear water. Great for snorkeling.
You have to pay €3.50 per person (over 12 y.o.) to access the beach. In high season you need to pre-book online as they limit the number of people per day. Facilities like parking, footpaths and public toilets should be better considering the fee.Written June 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not much going on when we visited as it was in early may.
But nevertheless it was a lovely experience.Written May 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My advice would be to go there as early as possible in July/August. We were there at 9.00 AM, within an hour a whole fleet of tourists arrived and the beach got really crowded.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I loved the sight of the sea reclaiming parts of the town. It certainly would have been quite a view in their prime. As an added bonus there were nesting seagulls around - a little bit of diving but some cute feathery chicks were around. The signs were a bit lacking so a little googling or imagination may be advised.Written May 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - stevesol6718New York City, NY537 contributionsSwimming in the bluest water ever. Take a boat and explore the beach and many caves. Water is crystal clear and perfect temperature. Swim from the beach or ask the captain to stop the boat and dive in.Written June 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SteveBalzan, Malta22 contributionsVery nice, clean and well kept coastal area. White sand and clear sea which stretches for miles. Also a very good (and flat) jogging and cycling route if you enjoy that. Not that many restaurants for such a large area and the ones I went in struggled with English...but nothing Google Translate couldn't fix.Written May 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria SClitheroe, UK6 contributionsParking at Capo testa can be very busy so to be there early it is quite important. - Sára M4 contributionsGreat place to spend a day. We arrived around 10:30 and we didn’t have a ticket for the car and they were all sold out by that time, so I would recommend buying the ticket in advance. In this case you can hike to the beaches(5 km to the first beach 7km to the last) go by shuttle bus(10eur/person-I am not sure how often it goes),you can rent a bike (18eur). We chose hiking, it is very pretty and not a hard route, but it takes around 1 hour to get to the beach. Beach is nice and sandy.Written August 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Visited this beach for the first time under an overcast sky with intermittent sun shining through. It actually turned out to be ideal condition (read - not too hot) to explore the long stretch of the beach with its fine/clean sand, azure water & limestone rocks. Beach access is free and there are many areas to spread your towel to lay out to get a tan or you can also pay to get a chair/umbrella. Give yourself an hour or two if you just want to wander around & explore the nooks and crannies. Or you can spend the whole day laying out & enjoying drinks/snacks. There is a small parking lot which is free as well. An immensely enjoyable & satisfying day for me & my friends.Written August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lu Impostu is very unique. More so than Cala Branchini. The sand changes from powdery gray to sandy tiny pebbleyish and back again within a few steps. The water is gorgeous. There is the border of marsh behind it which meets the ocean bay once you head down to the right. It’s hard to enjoy just how beautiful the setting is when it’s packed in august though. Even with the control of visitors we found it hard to get a comfortable spot on the beach, however I admit we arrived later around 12 whereas it’s usually best around 9:30 or earlier to arrive. Because the beach changes the areas we wanted to sit in were fuller than other parts. I do recommend exploring…once you go through main entrance, walk all the way down the beach so you can see how the sand and ocean changes. The beach dips down a bit for the little kids so it’s not super shallow but there is the really cool part all the way down to the right that is fun for little ones to explore! You can rent paddle boats for 20€ an hour. There’s not much in terms of food here. There are two parking entrances apparently? We entered by the main parking, the shared with Cala branchini.Written August 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JohannesAnnaGermany13 contributionsA beautiful beach with vlear water in lots of blue colours. The beach 8s not too big and you can take yr own towel or pay for a chair at the end of the beach.

- David A3 contributionsReservation only, list of guides on the La Maddelena parks website. We thought this was an unnecessary hassle at first, but once we started we quickly understood the reasons. We had Giuliano as a guide, extremely knowledgeable of the area, plant and animal life, good natured & humorous. The trail is about 40-45 minute hike, steep in sections, some loose rock and very hot with no shade. When you get to the beach it takes your breath away, turquoise blue water and small fine sandy area and easy access, some juniper bushes scattered around the bay under rocks for shade, you can find a shady spot. Due to previous years of no regulation, the beach could not handle the amount of traffic (500 people in some days). A place this beautiful needs protection so I am glad to see the restrictions, and a €25 per person for a guide is well worth it. We biked to the parking spot, give yourself 1/1.25 hours from La Maddelena (some hills on the way up !). Met our guide there at 9am, he let us stay for 3 hours which went quickly. Bring a bite to eat and lots of water. You can stop for beers on the way down. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. Thank you Giuliano !Written June 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

I have 5 days to relax on my own in mid may. Any advice on which place to go? Im looking at Santorini, Malta, and Sardinia. Just want a place to relax enjoy the sun and sea and views and sightseeing a few days>
Answer: Without knowing your preferences (e.g., do you consider relaxing being served cocktails while getting a manicure on a beach, or hiking on a remote path. And is your idea of sightseeing wandering through a museum or exploring waterfalls).
I have not yet been to Sardinia (still in planning stage), so I can't comment on it.
Malta is interesting, but more of an urban setting. There is a lot of history on the main island and it is fairly bustling. The out-island of Gozo is a lot quieter, but fairly limited in the way of restaurants etc.
I agree with the suggestion from jgalwaysonholiday. Perissa is a laid back beach area on the southern end of Santorini. You can get to Fira/Oia by bus.
In Perissa, I highly recommend Hotel Zorzis:
