The views are amazing but you need to book in advance to use the beach in full season or you will need to find a spot on the rocks :)

Spectacular beach with white sand and beautiful turquoise blue water. Out of the season is was not crowded and you could find a private spot.

Simply magical, this Cala… Definitely worth the boat trip! Never seen such a blue sea in my life.

My advice would be to go there as early as possible in July/August. We were there at 9.00 AM, within an hour a whole fleet of tourists arrived and the beach got really crowded.

Swimming in the bluest water ever. Take a boat and explore the beach and many caves. Water is crystal clear and perfect temperature. Swim from the beach or ask the captain to stop the boat and dive in.

Parking at Capo testa can be very busy so to be there early it is quite important. The Martini Beach club was quite good!

though the weather was threatening rain, my wife, Maria, and I rented a Vespa and toured from La Madellena to Isola Caprera. What a treat! The road has little traffic and takes you to many surprising vistas. We stopped at the Mineral Museum and had a tremendous session with Maria, our guide. Because of the weather, we did not stop to explore the plentiful and enticing hiking trails, sadly. Afterwards, back on La Madellena, we had a great lunch at an Agritourismo that was soon closing down due to being late in the season. Well worth the trip!

Great place to spend a day. We arrived around 10:30 and we didn’t have a ticket for the car and they were all sold out by that time, so I would recommend buying the ticket in advance. In this case you can hike to the beaches(5 km to the first beach 7km to the last) go by shuttle bus(10eur/person-I am not sure how often it goes),you can rent a bike (18eur). We chose hiking, it is very pretty and not a hard route, but it takes around 1 hour to get to the beach. Beach is nice and sandy.

One of the more beautiful beaches I have ever been one. It's very big, so finding space is almost always guaranteed. You can also very easily access it with public transport. Do bring your own umbrella though, as this seems to be practiced by everyone.

Visited this beach for the first time under an overcast sky with intermittent sun shining through. It actually turned out to be ideal condition (read - not too hot) to explore the long stretch of the beach with its fine/clean sand, azure water & limestone rocks. Beach access is free and there are many areas to spread your towel to lay out to get a tan or you can also pay to get a chair/umbrella. Give yourself an hour or two if you just want to wander around & explore the nooks and crannies. Or you can spend the whole day laying out & enjoying drinks/snacks. There is a small parking lot which is free as well. An immensely enjoyable & satisfying day for me & my friends.

Having visited both Cala branchini & Lu impostu, they each have their own characteristics and are both worth checking out. Lu Impostu is very unique. More so than Cala Branchini. The sand changes from powdery gray to sandy tiny pebbleyish and back again within a few steps. The water is gorgeous. There is the border of marsh behind it which meets the ocean bay once you head down to the right. It’s hard to enjoy just how beautiful the setting is when it’s packed in august though. Even with the control of visitors we found it hard to get a comfortable spot on the beach, however I admit we arrived later around 12 whereas it’s usually best around 9:30 or earlier to arrive. Because the beach changes the areas we wanted to sit in were fuller than other parts. I do recommend exploring…once you go through main entrance, walk all the way down the beach so you can see how the sand and ocean changes. The beach dips down a bit for the little kids so it’s not super shallow but there is the really cool part all the way down to the right that is fun for little ones to explore! You can rent paddle boats for 20€ an hour. There’s not much in terms of food here. There are two parking entrances apparently? We entered by the main parking, the shared with Cala branchini.

What an absolutely stunning place to spend the day.
You have to arrive before 730am peak holiday time to ensure you are allowed parking and entry to the beach. It is well regulated which limits overcrowding and absolutely spotless.
Parking was €9 for the day. 2 x sunloungers and an umbrella was €30 for the day and well worth the money with the shade welcomed throughout the day.
    Toilets are €1
We took our own snorkeling gear and went out multiple times towards the island and surrounding rocks. Despite blooms of jellyfish they didn't bother us.
Managed to have some lunch around midday at the Beach club which was superb.

Two parts of review, beach and then the beachbar food.
About the beach: lovely gorgeous water! But since this beach is so controlled there comes along much more of an ‘experience’ which can be hit or miss due to the staff running it. You will be treated as a tourist by beach staff and restaurant no matter your nationality. In peak season arrive at 8:30 to pick the spot of your liking. You must get the passes online the night before for 2€, the parking is expensive and no all day fee… but all of this does limit the amount of beachgoers which overall is more pleasant. The water gets quite warm in the afternoon because it’s so shallow. For older kids they may dislike how shallow it is actually. The pedal boats are fun, 20€ for an hour the people running it were relaxed and happy. Calm water, and the sand is fine and changes a bit as you walk down to the left more. The jewelry stand boat is cute.
The first “restaurant” as you walk in is absolutely disgusting and a shame. Bring your own lunch, I assure you. I have eaten at other beaches and had correct normal food but this was overall so bad from the rude service, poor organization and inedible food which is overpriced. They put no sauce on the sandwiches so it’s just thick dry packaged types of bread and A slice of whatever then if you want any sauce it’s .50€ each packet. Fries are thickly cut not fried well and lots of salt thrown on it. The salads are small little prepackaged containers for 10-12€ , something you buy at a grocery store for 3€. It’s a shame they can’t elevate the restaurant so that it reflects the beautiful surroundings. I didn’t even bother with a coffee as I couldn’t bear support that business after such a pitiful lunch.
So for the actual point of The Beach, highly recommended. The rest…don’t expect too much

We took one of the boat tours from Alghero. It's about an hour ride each way and the tour takes about 45 minutes. The water at the cave is amazingly blue and clear. Once you get in the cave, you purchase a ticket for the cave tour. The cave itself is gorgeous and well worth the time and money.

The only problem with the tour is there are too many people in the group. We were near the back of the line and found it difficult to know what she was talking about. The other problem is people stop to take pictures and that holds up the line as well.

In addition to taking the boat, you can drive if you have a car and use the steps to get to the cave, however there are over 600 steps. Going down the steps will be easy, but climbing back up... not so much.

Reservation only, list of guides on the La Maddelena parks website. We thought this was an unnecessary hassle at first, but once we started we quickly understood the reasons. We had Giuliano as a guide, extremely knowledgeable of the area, plant and animal life, good natured & humorous. The trail is about 40-45 minute hike, steep in sections, some loose rock and very hot with no shade. When you get to the beach it takes your breath away, turquoise blue water and small fine sandy area and easy access, some juniper bushes scattered around the bay under rocks for shade, you can find a shady spot. Due to previous years of no regulation, the beach could not handle the amount of traffic (500 people in some days). A place this beautiful needs protection so I am glad to see the restrictions, and a €25 per person for a guide is well worth it. We biked to the parking spot, give yourself 1/1.25 hours from La Maddelena (some hills on the way up !). Met our guide there at 9am, he let us stay for 3 hours which went quickly. Bring a bite to eat and lots of water. You can stop for beers on the way down. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. Thank you Giuliano !
