We purchased a family ticket for €10 which included a leaflet with information on the Basilica. It’s worth reading and highlights the points of interest in the 11th century church. Quiet, ancient place of worship with some wonderful old columns and carvings, two frescoes of saints and underneath the altar relics of Saint Simplicio.

I’ve reached the museum on first month Sunday and it’s free entrance day. The building is surprisingly nice and going trough different spaces is really a great full experience. Collection is mostly local classical painting with a great organization criteria and very interesting guidance. All employees are very kind and attentive. Highly recommended

We looked for activities to do on a windy day in Sardinia and visited this nice place. We’ve been nicely surprised !
The guides were kind and showed us how the stones sound.. lovely!
Really recommend to visit this place and the “Giardino Fantastico” not far away, another good surprise !

Some masterpieces of Maria Lai are on exhibition in this small, former train station of Ulassai. The guided tour was excellent. Worth visiting !

you have to check which exhibition is there, as it changed and most rooms are dedicated to that.
    topfloor is permanent, but limited.
    take around 1h30min to visit.
    Nice, small museum

Found this small museum to be just wonderful. We have had many poor experiences in Sardinia with poor and boring signage and little to no accommodation for non-speakers, and also many places whose websites offered incorrect information. All the more reason why this place was a delight!!! The introductory video was excellent (though I think we sat too close for the three screens to work well) and said n English for us. We used the audio guides in English throughout the rest of the museum which were very well done and clear to follow. Much to learn and all fascinating. Grazie!

We were wonderfully surprised by this exceptional contemporary art museum, highlighting the works of artist Costantino Nivola (1911-1988). This modern museum has a stunning and tranquil setting on the hillside overlooking the small village of Orani. There are several buildings surrounded by lovely landscaping and centered on a peaceful plaza. You can view Nivola's work indoors and outdoors. His most recent sculptures are superb! One could easily spend an hour or so to enjoy the art, stroll the gardens and soak in the views with a cup of coffee or refreshment which is served at the small, onsite cafe. Entry is a modest 5 euros, and there are special exhibits beyond Nivola's art. We highly recommend including a visit in your itinerary to central and northern Sardinia.

Local friends introduced us to the museum which surprised us especially for the NYC eagle story. Tertenia spent the right efforts to celebrate his artist: well done! Enjoy!

The beauty of traveling is discovering little museums in out of the way places and seeing art that you don't see in all the books. The woman who was selling tickets also gave us a little tour and explanation of the art and who Antonio Ortiz Echague was. There are also pieces from many other artists.
