I made changes online and these were handled promptly and once in Venice I called to reschedule transfer back to the airport and once again this was dealt with promptly.
The driver going to our hotel was distracted the entire time. On his cell phone , eating his lunch, looking for his water etc.
A boat like a car needs full concentration.
We did not feel confident at all with this boatsman on Aug 08 to our hotel .

Tried the parking garages at Piazzale Roma. Always fully occupied and expensive. Tronchetto parking is better, because there is mostly parking space left. But how to cover the distance between Tronchetto and Piazzale Roma. We did it several times on foot, but it is a trek after a tiring day walking in Venice. For some years bus 17 served the route, but was discontinued for some reason. But some years ago the People Mover was constructed. A sort of horizontal cable car which moves you between Tronchetto and Piazzale Roma for 1.50 euros a head. Brilliant. A good four point rating. It would be a five point rating if there was an easy way to get from the parking garage to the station. Some years ago, when the People Mover was shortly in operation, there was a straight walk from a side door of the parking garage, which was always ajar to the station and vice versa. This time we had to follow a circuitous and a bit dangerous route to reach the station, because the side doors were locked and access was blocked. Rosella was great to deal with, very responsive and kept us informed. Marco, our driver was great! He was on time for both trips, very courteous and cars were immaculate. We highly recommend her as a good and well prepared history teller. The evening with her was a big pleasure. - Claire2005Dublin63 contributionsI booked a transfer with Venice Taxi Airport from Marco Polo to Marina Di Venezia. Our flight was a little bit late but our driver was waiting patiently and it was only a short walk from the terminal/ I had requested a car seat and booster chair and both were available and ready to go and in great condition (cybex brand which is the same as we use at home). The drive took about 50 minutes. Very easy to book over email (credit card to secure booking and then we paid driver in cash but I believe can use card too). We were taken to the airport and it was an enjoyable experience. Great service. Punctual, professional and courteous drivers. That goes for the company as well. They also answered my e mails instantly (I am always afraid of things that might go wrong). - dcullen2016Pinole, CA9 contributionsWe booked two transfers through ShomeVenice for our pickup from the Venice VCE airport to our hotel. Then two days later, from our hotel to our cruise ship port in Chioggia. Even though this was a more expensive option, my husband and I were travelling with my elderly parents, so we really wanted to make sure everything went smoothly and that we didn't end up getting stranded somewhere.
Our flight into VCE ended up being delayed by 4 hours causing us to land late in the evening after dark. I was able to call Leonardo at ShomeVenice at our layover airport in Munich. He made sure our pickup went smoothly regardless. Staff member Nicolo was at the VCE airport outside the luggage exit with a sign with my name. He then drove us by shuttle to a private water taxi that then drove us directly to our hotel. Taking a water taxi by night into Venice was truly a spectacular experience as we were greeted with the city lights and bridges, and the fresh air was so refreshing after 20 hours of being trapped in stuffy airplanes and airports.
For our transfer to the cruise port, the ShomeVenice staff arranged for our water taxi pickup from our hotel to a shuttle driven by Nicolo who then drove us to Chioggia an hour away. It just so happens that there was a national public transportation strike on this same day so thankfully that did not affect us or we could have missed our ship!
We were so happy that we chose ShomeVenice for these services. They were professional, flexible, reliable, and gracious and made sure everything went without a hitch. It was worth every Euro! Thank you to Leonardo, Nicolo, and the rest of the staff who made sure our travels into and out of Venice went so smoothly! He refused to refund the excess charge, which he could easily have done using the eftpos. He told me to email the company. The driver was right on time which we really appreciated with a 3:30 in the morning pick up to Marco Polo. The driver was polite and provided us with a smooth, safe and comfortable ride. Also, the taxi was spotlessly clean. Thank you for an amazing experience. - Diana T1 contributionEverything was perfekt. We used the SKV as transfer from the cruise ship to the postojna caves. Everything worked very well, we were collected timely and the driver was very nice and explained us a lot about the nice landscape, the country itself and everything we wanted to know. We spoke english at the beginning, than he even spoke perfect german with us :-).
