My only regret is not checking the opening hours better - we arrived just as the church closed! However, we did get to enjoy the stunning view from the top of the hill, and that alone made it worth the trip. When you stand and see the beautiful city before you, you can only be amazed.

The building itself is looking a bit in disrepair which could be due to works halting during Covid. But the surrounding areas offer a lot of nature trails and opportunity for nice walks in the sun, so I'd definitely recommend visiting in the summer. Do bring a jacket - the wind can be bitter!

They’ve just the one line at the moment so it’s pretty quiet and the carriages are rather slim, but safe, fast and took us to Lingotto.
Unlike the parking meters around town, very easy to pay and great value for tickets - €4.50 all day.

I travelled from Ireland today to visit Turin for the first time. My son was celebrating his birthday and I decided to treat him to go see Torino play Bologna in the Stadio Olympico. We checked into our accommodation this morning and proceeded to the nearest tram stop to travel to the match. There was no payment machine at the stop, There was no option to pay the tram driver and the scanner on the tram wouldn’t read my credit card. A number of stops later two ticket inspectors boarded the tram. I explained that it was our first day in Turin, we tried numerous ways to pay for the tram and I was more than happy to pay the fare. They refused to accept my explanation and offer of payment and proceeded to call the police to enforce their fine.I was left with no option but to pay a fine of 74 euro as I was left in no doubt that I would face more serious sanctions by both the GTT and the police if the issue was not resolved there and then.I feel we were treated like criminals by the GTT and the Turin police after making a genuine effort to pay our tram fare. Welcome to Turin - not!
