Turin will surprise most visitors. Hardly any foreign tourists, in spite of the rich history and spectacular architecture and an extraordinary number of museums.

This is another piazza, located in the historical center of Turin. It took its name from the municipality of Solferino where the Piedmontese troops won a battle against the Austrians in the mid 19th century. It is of an irregular shape, sort of an oval with a fountain in one of its ends, called Angelica Fountain, and an equestrian statue of Ferdinand of Savoy in the center. It is a good place to stroll and have a meal in one of the many restaurants around. We tried Ristorante Solferino and it was simply amazing.

When you are tired walking, hop on the cruise and enjoy crusining especially at sunset.

It will be worthwhile as you are being brought back to the Royal Italy as you listen the audio tour guide.

    I love this experience.

By the way, night life in the evening:)

Il Po is here for viewing in this smaller square, An historic area full of interest. Some refurbishment going on in Sept 2019 to improve things. Carry on a little bit and you are in the much bigger Piazza San Carlo

Piazza Carlo Emanuel’s II is a medium size piazza in the center area of Turin. A good target for a stroll; plenty of historic and architecturally interesting buildings, restaurants and cafes. Traffic is not too bad either in the area.

This square is one of the smallest you will find in the city, but due to this, it has a special atmosphere. It reminds me a lot of the squares in the Gracia Neighbourhood in Barcelona. There are different bars, places to eat, normally ther are street musicians playing (if there is the sun shining). And it's located right next to the "Duomo": I strongly recommend you to have a drink here, it's special.

..planned so in the late 800s to break the "Romal acampment" physiognomy of the city, it connects piazza Solferino to the very central piazza Castello, with the usual "portici" on one side and residential/administrative buildings on the other. Under the portici, "important" (or once so) shops, coffee bars (Costadoro) and a historical bookstore (Libreria Petrini) that faces piazza Solferino, unfold in rapid succession. Atop the portici, beautiful residential buildings offer good examples of Turinese Art Nouveau.

Great building on a magnificant square.
Gorgeous architecture which blends in its surroundings, but in a good way.
