It's a must to go to if in the area.
It is so big that even when busy you don't get the crowd/pushing experience.

Although it is very busy, it is a beautiful place to visit and soak in the atmosphere of this city. Be careful though as, with all crowded places, pickpockets are around and expect to be hustled. Having said that, it is worth a visit, spectacular to see and very close to La Scala.

Wow effect is guaranteed despite the front façade is anonymous made of Ornavasso stone. Inside it's treasure, 4000 square meters of frescoes made by Lombardy painters 🖌️in the XVI century like Bernardino Luini and sons, Simone Peterzano (teacher of Caravaggio), and Vincenzo Foppa to name a few.
The area is divided in two parts, the Church (hall of faithfull) and the hall of nuns, the monastery was, during the XVI century the largest. You can't miss this church and its masterpieces 🎨 during your visit in Milan.
Church is open for visit from Tue to Sun 10:00-17:00, (Groups +9 people need to book the visit in advance) thanks to volunteers of Touring Club Italiano. Access is free but a volunteer and free tips are more than welcome.
A guest book is also available to witness your experience at San Maurizio.

The church of "Santa Maria presso San Satiro" (Saint Mary near Saint Satyr) was founded during the 9th century, and it was heavily restructured during the 15th century, when the architect Donato Bramante was commissioned the works.
It might be possible that also Leonardo da Vinci was commissioned some works, but only the ideas by Bramante were adopted.

The main piece of art is the optical illusion by Bramante himself above the main altar: there was no physical space for a long choir with a coffered barrel vault, so one of the first "trompe-l'œil" was painted, providing in 97 centimeters (3.2 feet) the illusion of a choir long 9.7 meters (32 feet). This is a masterpiece of Italian Renaissance perspective painting.

On the left side of the main altar there is the chapel of Saint Satyr, a pre-existing church that was incorporated when Saint Mary's church was built. Here the "Pietà", a group of painted terracotta statues by Agostino Fonduli can be seen.

First you go to the magnificent Castello Sforzesco, walk through it and you've reached this park. Simply wonderful, with people jogging, walking with their pets, sitting with their coffees. The park feels safe and it's been taken good care of it by the municipality. At nights there is something like an amusement park but we were there in the morning.

This piazza gives a stark contrast to the historic architecture in the rest of the city. Worth a visit for the interesting buildings, also a great food market here too.

Very interesting museum, a lot too see...you really need some time. History of Italian science and technology...but you really can learn a lot of things. Not for art amateurs, that's for sure, but also not only for families with small kids.

This is a small art museum in a converted bank building. It contains some excellent art works that have been thoughtfully laid out. Definitely worth a visit. Very near the Duomo and across the street from the SCALA theater.

A lovely arc next to Sempione park. The square around the arc is huge. We passed around while exploring the area and had a stop and a bite on one of the benches in the park. The arc looked really nice and we enjoyed the view.

Really enjoyed the architecture and the artwork in this modern art museum. The views of the Duomo are also spectacular. The shop was a little disappointing but we weren't there to buy things anyway. Very good stop after doing the Duomo; would recommend it.
