What travelers are saying
- PegasiosNicosia, Cyprus440 contributionsA really spectacular building, of high religious importance, which everyone, regardless of religious believes, should experience, at least once.
I bought a ticket from the official store, just on the side of Duomo, for only 10 euros, at the last time-slot available, and avoided all queues, entering Duomo in less than 1 minute.
There was a ceremony inside which added more spirituality to the already emotion-filled area. Very nice interior, well crafted, and fill with art. I light up a candle, even though I am not Catholic, which was an emotional act on its own.Written March 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A definite must when in Milan.Written March 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Just one tip- you need to book online early and be on site early. We had quite a miserable experience because it was raining and we had whiny kids. It was unclear what to do there and some of the staff there were quite rude. You must first go to the ticket office (not at the entrance where we thought we should wait but need to walk a bit to the side entrance on the left) to get it checked with a passport then collect your whisperers at another counter. Remember to check your backpacks in the locker before you go back to the entrance (or you will have to walk back again- not fun in the rain and v stressful when the guide has already started to talk). Then there is another round of security checks.
The mural was incredible to see in person, highly recommend.Written January 1, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - PegasiosNicosia, Cyprus440 contributionsOutstanding castle and exhibition inside.
Some tips beforehand:
1. Book a ticket online at the official website. Its easy. Its cheap.
2. There is a free locker room to leave your belongings. You only need 1 euro to lock the locker, which you get back when returning.
3. Its a good option on a rainy day too.
The castle itself it a masterpiece. The detail, the shape, the architecture, everything.
Inside, there are exhibitions of different topics, different eras, for all tastes.

Finding a parking spot in Milan during December is quite a challenge, so we had to circle around a few times before we finally secured one. At last, after an extensive search. Our first stop was the stunning Piazza del Duomo. Incredible, simply incredible! Such a fascinating structure! Impressive and grand cathedral. The artistic work on the building is truly impressive. I didn’t have the opportunity to go inside because the queue was really long. Maybe next time! I was truly impressed by the cathedral. It was packed with people snapping photos and appreciating the architecture. Visiting it in Milan is an absolute necessity.Written January 23, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 1991KEBNavarre, FL1,684 contributionsOver 35 rooms of Renaissance art could be an overdose, and maybe this was, but it is a spectacular collection. It's worth the cost and the couple of hours spent viewing the art. There was a lot of works that can be gone through quickly.Written March 14, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - A.BWorldBrasov, Romania43 contributionsIt was a great experience!
There are a lot of stairs, but there is also a lift (for extra cost).
The climb was worth it, the view was great and the roof is nice if you want to see details of the architecture.
If you have time, we recommend going to the roof.Written December 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 123pixFalmouth, UK579 contributionsWe took a taxi from the Duomo square to visit the canal area, about 11 euros. We were there in the morning, so quite quiet but very pleasant. We strolled down the side of the canal, lots of cafes, plus shops and craft stalls. Also some attractive garden courtyards to visit and some with small shops inside. Several bridges you can cross to the other side of the canal. It was great to visit another very interesting area of Milan.Written October 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anda NegulescuBucharest, Romania160 contributionsOur visit was not connected with a show, it was just a tour of La Scala. We cued outside for over 30 minutes (and it was a quite cold December day), but we finally managed to get in. The idea is that they let people in as other come out, so as to keep only a certain number of persons simultaneously inside. The same policy applies for your time inside a box, this being the only moment when you actually get to see the hall itself. The hall is beautiful and it feels like a journey in time, as it looks like it was just recently built. The stage seems quite big, but not as big as in other world famous opera houses. We enjoyed very much the museum as well, there are lot of paintings and memorabilia of big names related to Opera (composers and singers).Written January 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dimitris LSydney, Australia54,497 contributionsWe enjoyed walking around Brera District. It is one of Milan's nicest areas. There are many lovely sights to see and numerous restaurants, but this time around we preferred to just window shop, enjoy the architecture and just laze about.Written October 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HighlandLass24Baltimore, MD280 contributionsWhile the Last Supper painting itself is faded, it is one of those must see sights. We didn't really see the church itself, but followed the directions for the Last Supper. The viewing is timed and you can only enter at your allotted time and you are only given 15 minutes to view it. It is more than enough time to admire it and move on. The ticket office to check in at your time and pickup the tickets seemed to be in a building just before the church itself so look for the signs.Written February 9, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
