We walked here from Monterosso which was hard but worth it. Beautiful views along the way and spectacular as you drop down into the town. Some great photo stops. We went late May and it was hard to get lunch due to the number of tourists. A picnic may be appropriate.

WE bought day ticket for train and trek for 18 e. We decided to hike from Corniglia to Vernazza on the blue trail. The Blue trail is suppose to be the easy trail. It is not. You must wear sturdy shoes and expect to climb many steps up a mountain and down: few level spots. Half way is a restaurant serving slushy ice drinks, birre, wine, and has a bathroom for customers. Every one on trail stops to catch their breath. We are 65 and were not prepared to hike steps and inclines ,but were able to do it. Bring plenty of water since even at 74 deg with no shade it was very hot. Some people used trekking poles for balance. Vernazza to Monterossa is supposed to be steeper and not as nice according to Rick Steves guide

Castello Doria is the main castle located in the upper part of Vernazza, one of the five towns in Cinque Terre National Park, in the North of Italy. In fact, it is a very good upper point from where you can see very nice views of the town, the port (wonderful!) and the sea. Also, you can visit the remains of this fortress and see the views in all directions. If you visit it, you need go up in the old town and you can see some very beautiful streets. Very good.

It is certainly one of the gems of Vernazza.
It is a catholic church built in the 11th century with access from a secondary entrance, located to the side of the apse, directly from the small square overlooking the marina.
The simplicity of the interior strikes and contrasts with the Baroque façade: its exposed stone walls have nothing pompous and superfluous, and invite to prayer and meditation.
Only very few decorations, among which noteworthy is a large wooden crucifix attributed to the Genoese sculptor Anton Maria Maragliano, adorn the little church.
Small but beautiful and very impressive.
From inside it is possible to see the small port and hear the roar of the waves.
If you visit Vernazza, you cannot miss this beautiful church.

The majority of the trail to the sanctuary is NOT paved, but stones and dirt and very steep. Took us 75 minutes but worth the exertion. Lovely small church and views are amazing. Only 50 minutes to decent and then a delicious lunch at Il Pirata.

Susie does art classes for tourists and makes the experience a delight! Though I am not an artist, I loved the way she made us enjoy the entire art class! I left ith a piece I created and can only say her studio, high in the mountains, but close to Vernazza, completed the most exciting part of our journey!

The focal point of the town of Vernazza, be sure not to miss it (that would be hard to do, actually)! Includes a small sand and pebble beach that can be wall to wall people on a nice summer day. Beware though that the beach and adjoining piazza can be all underwater should a storm arise.

Verrnazza's harbor has sunning rocks and showers by the break water. The new beaches less safe and nearer the cliffs Apparently freak waves have been known to wash over the harbor and rearrange rocks. No san , just Peebles and debris buried from the flood.

Highly recommend Kate for both reflexology and massage. I had both in a much needed 90 minute appointment! The treatments were thorough, effective and very relaxing - just what I needed after almost five weeks of non stop travel and a difficult hike the day before.
Communication via email a couple of days before was easy and Kate was quick to respond. Treatment room was quiet and comfortable. Definitely a worthwhile "wellness" experience.

It’s so nice to find real customer service by DAVIDE who was very engaged in helping people in train stations. He was fluent in English and provided important information to tourists. He would guide passengers with coach locations so we could wait in the right place in the platform. He even helped me carry my luggage up the train - all these with a smile. He was always interacting with passengers waiting or milling about in the train platforms - always willing to help! Keep up the good work!!
