dive in a medieval age, walking on the streets , learning the habits and occupations from that time , virtually flying over the town, etc

We "dropped" in and bought tickets at the entrance (€6 each) card payment only.

The lower Egyptian floor was great, plenty to see, well laid out and with English text.

Upstairs led to a mixed area of roman, neolitic and bronze age but sadly very few had english text. For this we give 4 star but with more English 5 star.

This is an excellent museum! It covers the whole history of the city exploring the Roman era, medieval times, history of the buildings, the university, right up to modern pop culture. A free audio guide is available where you key in the room number and the guide tells you all about what you’re viewing. The museum had some exciting unusual interactive rooms. I recommend going on the first day of your trip to discover the city.

This museum helped us to make sense of the history of the city. It has some interesting exhibitions and does not take long to get around.

I think if you go to Bologna this is a must see, considering the fact how important the university is for the city's history and how important this city is for the history of universities in general. If you ever studied at university, you should especially come. I learned some very interesting facts from the histiry of universities and students and I had a reat uided tour with Rita. Also the entrance was free, I don't know if it's for free for non students.
